My dog loves to play with empty plastic juice bottles and chases them round the garden and chews them until they are squashed flat. My wee brother (who knows nothing about dogs!) said I shouldn't let the dog play with them as the glue on them and chemicals on the plastic are not good for the dog.
This sounds fairly plausible but I hate the thought of him being right. The guidance at the moment for humans is not to refill plastic bottles or use some plastic things in the microwave due to chemicals being released that could cause cancer so does this translate to dogs? any ideas??
i know some1 who makes the labels for the fruit shoot bottles....its written on their bottles not to refil but its only a marketing ploy just to make sure you buy more of their product and not just continously fill 1 bottle up.........my dogs love plastic bottles, i just take the paper and lids off first and i rince them out aswel
My pups and older dogs have always had plastic bottles. Young pups have had them filled with pasta....they seem to love the sound. My 6 year old now still loves to play with an empty bottle......never caused a problem. Keep an eye obviously, as with anything, but I wouldn't worry too much :-)
my puppies and adlut dogs love thenm to BUT beacuse andrew like to do gundog traning the only problem is they crash the bottle down which may make the dog have a hard mouth for picking up later
