Think the country needs a bit more colder weather  after so many mild winters.

I am a landscape Gardener and for the past 2 years in January we have been decorating.
The reason????? Because there has beed a big freeze ;) ;)
So it is no surprise to me that we are going to have a Cold spell very soon :) :) :)
2 years ago it was snow and ice now as we were having snow ball fights 2 days after Xmas when I was ill LOL
Not quite sure about the -12 degrees!!!! Is this the same 'expert' that said it would be a long very very hot dry summer ;) ;)
Although I do agree that we NEED a Proper cold spell. About 7 years ago we had a winter where the ground was frozen several inches down, but thats the last time. Since then It has only frozen an inch and then only for a few days!!! We need a cold snap to kill all the bugs like Red Spider might, ghreen Fly, black flys, Wasps etc that are all able to live through the winter when they shouldnt normally!!!
Lea :) :) :)

We haven't had snow this time of year in about 20 years.  :-)   I have been going about in a t-shirt all week :-)  Sunny Scotland. ;-)

We had snow on Xmas day 3 years ago!! That was in Lancashire, and the first time I remember there being snow at Xmas!

Was quite frozen where I was in Scotland over Xmas for 2 or 3 days before it went mild again.

It is a bit colder now but have been to the local shop to get some fruit and yogurts and all the bread and milk had been sold out due to the possibility of snow tomorrow :rolleyes: Idiots

Gosh, I read that link and it says extreme cold of -12C is expected.  It was -25.4C here this morning, Ontario, Canada.  I feel sorry for poor little puppy boy having to do his business outside while the rest of us enjoy the comforts of the warm house, even the cats.  Poor little fellow, when he comes in he has peesicles.
- By Blue Date 03.01.08 23:12 UTC
That is when the weather is great so low. No horrible rain or dampness :-) I wished we could get it here at lest we could get snow tyres or chains :-)

I was out tonight for 15 mins with my estate car and it nearly did a 360 degree turn.. ( we nearly 90 degree but you get my drift ;-) )
- By ali-t [gb] Date 03.01.08 19:45 UTC
blizzards in Angus today and sent home from work early - yeeha! Alternating snow and rain in the north of Dundee.  Doing a wee snow dance to pray to the snow gods to be able to work from home tomorrow.
