Sorry, just have to sing my pup's praises.... OH managed to get him to do an emergency down while chasing a hare today :) :)  This is a big step forward as he's been good at going down while chasing a toy, but not with chasing animals - he put up the hare when it was only 10 feet away.  Although he was on his long line, Steve didn't have a hold on it and he was just out of range to stand on it, that's the problem with hares, they just suddenly come from nowhere.

Still a long way to go with his training obviously, he only went down on the 4th 'Down!' (ok, I know you should only give a command  once...) but we still feel very proud of him.  Before, NOTHING would stop him until he lost the hare.

I would be very chuffed if mine would do it on the fourth down while chasing furries, not a chance with a hunting breed!!
