I must admit that the 3 Goldiepoos I've seen are stunning. I've see several Labradoodles, the last one at a training club and it looked identical to the black rough coated lurcher types that are quite typical at gundog and  hunting fares.

Someone near me is selling Bassets cross Cockers. If you look in the adtrader there are simply loads and
with the dog press seemingly promoting them it's no wonder really.

Also remember that some of these "breeders with champion lines" are breeding their bitches every season - one pedigree litter, KC registered then a crossbred litter, commanding prices equivilent to the pedigree puppies, not KC registered. The parents may be health tested for the KC registered pups, but they certainly werent tested to specifically breed the mongrels, they are just a very profitable side-line.

The breeding ans sale of dogs welfare Act stipulates that a bitch should not have more than 6 litters, how one proves which bitch has had too many litters if they are not registered is the problem.  Anyone required to have a licence is supposed to identify breeding stock and keep records.  so I think ensuring all those that should do have licenses and that the councils are nagged to enforce the law is what is needed.
