Did anybody watch this last week?    Falling over, slurring words and eyes looked terrible.  Did anyone notice it?  I was surprised that nothing had been mentioned up to now :d

He's never done much for me but was shocked by his behaviour on the show last week.
- By Blue Date 13.12.07 14:55 UTC
I love him but I wondered what was going on with him. May have been really bag jet lag or perhaps he had to many vino tintos :-)

PS I think leon can walk him though ;-)
- By LJS Date 13.12.07 17:33 UTC
He was trying to make the contestants look good ;) :D

I saw him on the after show being interviewed by Fern and looked ok ?
- By yorkies4eva [eu] Date 14.12.07 12:53 UTC
I watched it, well taped it! But i never noticed! Just thought that was how he was! haha

Cant beleive same difference are in the final!! and Nikki went!!! One of the best ones!!

I hope Rhydian wins!!

- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.12.07 15:15 UTC
Ditto on everything you said thought the Butlins type performers shodul ahve gone and Nikki stayed,b tu also like Rhydian and hope he wins.  I can see him in big stage stuff, what on earth did he do wrong when auditioning for Joseph for ALW to not notice him?
- By Goldmali Date 14.12.07 15:27 UTC
I liked Nikki but I can't see anyone going out to buy a CD with her -NOR with Rhydian. He's the wrong type, sings the wrong sort of thing, not right for the X-factor. Sure he can sing, but who of the average viewers would actually want to buy a CD with him? I think the only worthy winners would have been Hope or Futureproof, now there's nothing good left, certainly nothing that I'd want a CD of. Rhydian should be on stage in musicals. Have to admit I can't stand him, he makes me so angry just to look at that I want to throw things on the telly!!, but he'd be great for that sort of work, or for doing Il Divo style records. He's not a Shayne or Leona that people will buy CDs from to listen to. I can't see any of these 3 having a career like either of them. Same Difference would no doubt do best as the really young kids would listen to them. Leon is just another Ray for the old people's homes to drool over. :D ;)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.12.07 15:59 UTC
Ah but X factr isn't Pop Idol, it doesn't have to be pop but talent.  I liked the primary school teacher better than Niki though.  I thnk Rydian could do anythign from Opera anmd muscial to stuff like Meatloaf or Freddy Mercury.  To be honest I prefer not to watch singers at all, only listen to them., but I like strong voices adn stirring stuff.
- By Goldmali Date 14.12.07 16:37 UTC
To be honest I prefer not to watch singers at all, only listen to them., but I like strong voices adn stirring stuff.

Yes that's my point. :) I'd not want to listen to Rhydian if he was on a CD or on radio, not my style.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.12.07 16:41 UTC
Now the reverse is true for me, he sounds distinctive unlike most of what is on the radio these days, I think I would remember him most of the others I don't .

I can recognise very few of the artists I hear in the last 15 years or so.

There is of course room for all styles, even if they are not thsoe we like, as the Buble stle and that of Leon do not appeal, though I do think him good.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 14.12.07 17:37 UTC
Same Difference are getting the childrens vote and why not.  Leon does nothing for me and unfortunately as he's still so young he doesn't seem to have the x-factor when he talks and is interviewed, unlike many of the youngsters brought into the show world in America.
- By Carrington Date 14.12.07 19:19 UTC
I love him, but agree there was something a miss, I actually thought he was trying his hardest not to burst out laughing, he kept looking to me as though he was fighting the giggles or perhaps 'something nice ;-) ' had just happened.

I love his music, whatever the reason.
- By Carrington Date 14.12.07 19:26 UTC
Rydian, Rhydian, whatever his name is :-D  He should win, never a note out of place all the way through, imaculate presentations, he's brilliant, agree he is more West End than Pop Star though.

Leon - too young, too nervous, sometimes sounds ok, sometimes terrible! It would be a shame if he won.

Same Difference - Bless, I don't believe they would be in the contest still if Simon were not their mentor as he would have slated them to death just as Louis otherwise.  They are cute, and to be honest, I guess they would sell more records than the other two put together, make millions through Disney alone :-P the kids love them, so money wise they would be the winners.

But talent, our blonde haired genius should be the winner.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.12.07 22:03 UTC
As I said before I don't think X factor is supposed to be pop as was pop idol but a broader range of styles adn talent.
- By jeanb [gb] Date 15.12.07 09:43 UTC
I love Rhydian. He has a great voice, and has never hit a bum note or sung off key, unlike Leon . I cant understand why folk apparantly like Michael Buble and Leon's style of singing .Is off key and out of tune the new vogue?. I certainly wouldnt buy any of their discs, but Rhydian? Now that's a different kettle of fish. I think he is a lovely young man who is not at all arrogant. Every week he seems surprised and grateful to be voted back, despite having given ,in the judges words, the best performance of the night. I hope he wins tonight, otherwise the whole X factor will have been a waste of time.
Leon may be also a nice young man,but I cringe at the flat notes and total lack of charisma. As for Same difference. A nice young couple but no one would buy their discs. They would be Ok at a childrens party or a social club, but that's all. Last year's winner,Leona Lewis had a marvellous voice and deserved to win,and tonight I hope justice is done for Rhydian. Whatever the outcome,he will have a musical career,I have no doubt of that, and I will be first in the queue to buy his CD.
- By Mobby [gb] Date 15.12.07 09:48 UTC
SAME DIFFERENCE ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
- By sandrah Date 15.12.07 10:08 UTC

>> I think he is a lovely young man who is not at all arrogant

I can only assume you didn't see the auditions
- By Mobby [gb] Date 15.12.07 10:19 UTC
or listen to what happened to him at the joesph auditions :)

I think hes very busy trying to reconstruct a "nicer" persona for people!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.12.07 11:52 UTC
To be honest I think the arrogant act is the 'scary/different/larger than life persona' cultivated to get noticed.  I think in reality he is rather nice and over the weeks has allowed the persona to fade.
- By jeanb [gb] Date 15.12.07 11:14 UTC
yes I saw the auditions, and I also thought that Sharon was very rude in making a gesture of sticking her fingers down her throat. He was trying to persuade the panel that he could do Pop as well as Opera, and I think that his confidence in his singing was taken as arrogance, and kept fuelled by Sharon's childish remarks and gestures.
I don't know what happened in the auditions for Joseph ,but I guess they needed more of an untrained voice for the part. No surprise that it went to the semi -pro who had something of a stage presence.
God Listen to me You would think I had nothing better to do than watch programmes like this .I actually only watched the last 2 X factors, and only watched the one about Joseph cos my daughter was staying with me for a few weeks.and she watched it.
Never mind. We all have our favourites and may the best man win (or duo as in Same difference)

That wasn't Sharon, that was Dannii! Sharon made out as to wring his neck.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.12.07 11:50 UTC
Me too.  Don't buy music often but sure would by an album of his.  I'd love him to do some rock Opera, stirring anthems and some softer stuff to show his range.
- By jeanb [gb] Date 15.12.07 15:02 UTC
Brainless MMMMM yes me too. the thought of him singing some nice stirring ballads is something I would look forward to .I am having a rotten time just now My son's dog died last week and my husband has to go and see a haemotologist as he has too many white blood cells ,which was picked up during a routine blood test. They think he may have CLL which is Chronic Lymphoctyes Leukaemia.I have been Googling it and I probably shouldnt.Hopefully he has the lower grade one which doesn't need treatment.
Watching X factor is the least of my worries, but it will help take my mind off it for a while.

Can't believe it, Leon has just WON!!  I suspect he'll end up another Steve Brownstein and Rhydian will come out of it as the real winner!
- By Fillis Date 15.12.07 23:06 UTC
I just knew from the judges last comments to Rhydian that Leon had won - even though voting hadnt finished! Then there was the extra 20 mins of chat and ads between Leons last song and Rhydians...
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:09 UTC
The new single when sung by Leon was dead boring, Rhydian made it sound like a different song!  I can't see what they will be able to do with Leon, he can't even converse properly..........no personality at all!
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 00:43 UTC
Oh god,  we had 6 sitting in the house,  2 Scots, 1 English, 2 Irish and 1 Canadian and we all thought Leon was suberb at it and thought it was that song that perhaps made Rhydian lose out as you could barely hear a word he was singing.

Leon was crystal clear :-)
- By ShaynLola Date 15.12.07 23:13 UTC
I thought the final comments to Rhydian were a bit 'hard luck but thanks for taking part' too.

At the end of the day, Rhydian didn't need to win and Leon did.  Rhydian already has a career pretty much signed and sealed without needing the safety net of Simon Cowell's record company but Leon needs the right marketing etc to sell his records.

At least Same Difference didn't win.  Cute and nice and kid friendly they may have been but they couldn't carry a tune in a bucket
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:09 UTC
Oldilocks totally agree.  If he's got the x-factor then I'm worried!  I'm sorry but he just did nothing for me one bit, though to be truthful I hardly watched it this year because I didn't like any of the acts.
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:11 UTC
Makes you wonder whether there is any truth in the 'vote rigging' rumour doesn't it?
- By Lea Date 15.12.07 23:13 UTC
But could it be he was getting 60% of the vote from the beginging and they knew it wouldnt turn around in last hour from past experience???
Sorry i forgot to watch it so didnt hear the comments.
Lea/.
- By Fillis Date 15.12.07 23:12 UTC
I dont know how Leon even got through the early stages as he consistently hit flat notes.
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:12 UTC
I agree Fillis!
- By Rupertbear [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:31 UTC
I cant believe bloody Leon won either!! To be honest thought talent was a bit thin on the ground this competition, but Rhydian was the clear winner (not my type of music at all) but super voice.
Leon sung off key from the beginning, looked awkward in his performances and thought he sounded really flat tonight.

I too thought it was a good bye to Rhydian after what the judges had said, i reckon its a fix!  That Minogue woman obviously has the hots for him for some strange reason!! ??
- By jeanb [gb] Date 15.12.07 23:42 UTC
Oh well Got it wrong again  I agree with all the comments and I think that its only the bookies who will be happy with that result.Rhydian was by far the better singer. Leon doesnt even finish the words when he sings. They just somehow trail off at the end and as someone said It was boring the way he sang the final song.He will be a one hit wonder and I know we haven't heard the last of Rhydian.
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 00:29 UTC
You must all have different ears than me or you need a TV upgrade :-D

That was a well deserved win , I thought the lad was fantastic and will probably be one of the most successful winners. The clarity in the singing was amazing for being live.

Well deserved and what I voice.    I don't do the following pop things now but from the first time I saw Leon I knew he would win.  Beautiful voice and the record being released is a favorite of mine so great all round.

First time I have enjoyed the show from beginning to end.

Thought Kylie and The Jenkins woman would have been better left on BBC2 though.  Even Jason was better than the pair of them.

I am off to down load. :-)
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 00:32 UTC
I bet he is bigger than Michael Buble and I love him to.

Suberb singer all round.

Voting is now completely governed , he won because he deserved to in my honest opinion. When I saw him audition at the beginning I thought he was suberb.
- By Lissie-Lou [gb] Date 16.12.07 00:52 UTC
Leon wasn't for me I'm afraid.  He got better as the weeks went on, and his confidence grew, but even tonight, he was very flat.  His last song was the best, he did it well.

Rhydian should have won.  I was shocked that he didn't.

It made me laugh that Simon Cowell said earlier this evening 'You're in for a shock tonight'  Too true!! ;-)
- By sandra762 Date 16.12.07 00:56 UTC
I liked Leon from the first audition and have been routing for him every week and I'm glad he won, I'm a 'bubble' fan too!- I still think Leon could do with a few more years of coaching then I think he will be fantastic. Rhydian is without doubt very talented and his future looks set to be huge. Good luck to both of them :)
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 00:59 UTC Edited 16.12.07 01:02 UTC
Been trying to download the song but can get on at all, jammed fulled.

First X-factor I have really really enjoyed well I liked   Will young also. I love a good clear voice.

I hope they are not as long with Leon's album as Leona's  :-)
- By sandra762 Date 16.12.07 01:01 UTC
Having a party Blue? lol did you mean Will Young? :D
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 01:03 UTC
That's the one ;-)  lucky I had time to change it. Oh like Mr Smith too ;-)
- By lumphy [gb] Date 16.12.07 09:16 UTC
Disapointed by the result,. I really didnt think Leon would get to the last two. he is  anice sweet guy but he just lacks personality. Sorry I refuse to vote because he is Scottish. I was fed up hearing on the radio that we should vote for him. I am in Scotland. He should of won because of his talent not because of his nationality.   I wasnt a huge Rhydian fan but I did think he had a fantastic voice and every week he preformed like the star turn. I am glad he hasnt been stuck with that awfull single. It is so dull. When it started I commented it sounded very celtic and wondered if it was a fix. Would of loved to have seen Same Difference singing it lol bouncing around the stage they might of livened it up a bit lol.
Rhydian can now go and release Sometimes which I just love and get goosebumps when he sings it.

I didnt think the duets did anyone any favours ether. Kylie was awfull and I couldnt take my eyes of that creation she was wearing, Kathryne Jenkins I dont like I always think she has a screeching type of voice and I dont find it pleasant to listen to she ruined Rydians song. Jason Donavan was just nice but I dont think he added much to the song. It wasnt really a song for three people to sing so did sound odd.

I did think though that Rydian could come out of this better than anyone else. AS mentioned on the show when Andrew Lloyd Webber phones on Monday to offer him a show he can take the call. If he was tied to Simon Cowells record company he would have them dictating what he could sing and have him on a contract. Now at least he can choose who he does want to manage him and get the best out of him.

I wish Leon well he does seem to be a nice guy but sorry he doesnt have the X factor. But I cant really say Rhydian has either.  I was channel hopping after it had finished and found Robbie Williams at the Albert Hall. To me he has the X Factor like him or love him he has that spark,

Wendy

sorry that should of been "somewere"   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuM4CZjsR4g
- By jennyb59 [gb] Date 16.12.07 10:00 UTC
I thought it was a travesty, no way should Leon have won, he was flat, out of tune, the only songs he sings with some reasonable performance is a swing type crooners song, not very versatile..
Rhydian on the other hand was outstanding as he has been all the way thru the competition, never had a bad performance, his voice is great and he was able to pull off all the songs that were selected for him, even Go West....
Just watched that you tube video it was fantastic..
Hope that he gets the career he deserves.....
- By Brainless [gb] Date 16.12.07 11:32 UTC
Agree .  I wonder if the public had more sympathy for Leon because his Mum was worse off than Rhydians parents seem to be.

Hope to see something by Rhydian in the shops soon.
- By Blue Date 16.12.07 10:00 UTC Edited 16.12.07 10:05 UTC
Sorry I refuse to vote because he is Scottish. I was fed up hearing on the radio that we should vote for him. I am in Scotland.

 Did someone on here say people should vote because of nationality. I thought it was really bad when I saw on the X-factor the flags and them saying , Scotland, England and Wales.

I thought that was quite silly but maybe others liked it. I thought Leon was the best by far vocally.  Rhydian will have a career regardless but I think Leon's records will sell more because he is and can be alround.

He did the Beatles song really well, and a few others that can go on an album no problem

I live in Scotland ( Canadian born) but don't get tied up into patriot country compitions , the world doesn't need them.

Just as well it didn't actually end up like that even if you think it may have as the votes may have went against him. IMHO.

Funny we are al different I really thought the lad was great, I was listening on I-tunes to some of the oldies like Sinatra, and Dean Martins Xmas songs and I tell you he has a voice as good as if not better than most. You have to be in tune I guess with that type of voice but I love it.

PS Robbie Williams couldn't raise by blood pressure a notch. I think he is far too feminine ..  He is a kidder ;-)

I think the duets nearly won it for SD.  What were they thinking of putting Kylie on and the Jenkins woman.  I couldn't believe it.
- By Carrington Date 16.12.07 11:32 UTC
I thought it was really bad when I saw on the X-factor the flags and them saying , Scotland, England and Wales.

Totally agree Blue, it wasn't Eurovision! Or UKvision! :-D

Have to part ways now though as I'm so gutted that Leon won, he just was not consistant, I found his singing boring and it was usually when I went to put the kettle on :-D He's sung more bum notes than the rest put together. Ryhdian should have won, brilliant voice.

I hate that song though, I don't think it will make No.1  So in a way I'm glad Rhydian did not have to release it with the embarrassment of not getting a No.1 as that seems to seal the fate of the singers.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 16.12.07 11:35 UTC
I only saw the very end (because the programme overran and we'd turned over for something else! :o) and didn't rate the winner highly at all. A pleasant enough voice for an amateur with a fair complement of off-notes, but nothing special by any means.
- By Annie ns Date 16.12.07 11:58 UTC
I thought Rydian was great and will undoubtedly do very well anyway.  Don't think winning has done Leon any favours really.  I am concerned about the pressure it will put him under as I don't think his talent is anything like developed enough at this stage, nor do I think he has the mental strength to cope with being thrust into the spotlight.
- By arched [gb] Date 16.12.07 12:37 UTC
I don't usually watch it and only caught a few minutes. I just wondered if anybody has any idea what Kylie was wearing ?!. Considering her fan base consists of all ages including lots and lots of little girls does she really need to dress like a ummmm, trying to think of a suitable word.....madam ?. It wasn't even a flattering outfit. She risks going down the Madonna route - dressing totally wrong for not such a spring chicken !.

Val (who's corset and fishnet days were over before they'd even started !).
