ME:eek:

Does anything ever go smoothly at chez Moi :eek:  NO!!!!

Huge lorry arrived yesterday... you know the type... 18wheeler covered wagon... hmm... OK... my dog food has arrived... driver knocks on door... asks, where do you want it... I tell him (politely  :)) and then... brain goes into overdrive... how the HELL do we get the food off the lorry ... he normally delivers to wholesalers who have dinky little fork lift trucks  ... and of course, I dont have one ... well you dont do ya  oh.. and before you ask.. how big is the load... its a full 1TON of bleddy dog food... 50 x 15KG sacks... all clingfilmed in one great huge bundle on a pallet...

Panic nearly sets in... this is a mamoth task.. and a good few hours of humping, pulling, shoving and shifting this load off the lorry.. THEN we have to get it from the road, (single track, nothing can get past at this point) ... up to the house... THEN I have to get it from the front of the house into storage... ALL by hand..

B~UT.... my neighbour, who by the grace of God, just happens to be home, at 11am... is spotted, and off driver trundles and asks him.. you dont by any chance have a forklift truck.. to which Andrey replies...................................YES...:eek: so Andrew gets the pallet off the lorry... drives it up to my font door.... and ... and... with all the rain... Andrew, Forlift and pallet load of 1 Ton of food.. sink  ... (totally mortified smiley inserted here ).. so now poor Andrew is stuck... and me.. I am mortified.. lorry driver getting quite anxious to deliver his next load, pis**s off and leaves us...Andrew finally gets load off forks, gets some wood and manages to back truck out of huge gaping hole now in my front driveway... and dissapears up road to safety of his own home.. leaving me with a pallet of 1 TON of dog food to cart from crater at front door to safey of its new home.... 3hours later, I finally cart the last of the 50 sacks of food to its new home... sit down and have a cuppa... THEN.. remember I am judging a fun show at 7pm... its now 5pm and I have not seen to dogs, am filthy, cold, wet, hungry, and run for the shower.... grab Tia, shove a T-shirt on her.. and drive 50miles to the show..... had a brilliant evening.. and brought doggy bags home for the gang... went to bed at 2 am.. and didnt wake up till 11am this morning   (insert two more mortified smileys :( )

1 ton of dog food.  Insert a very shocked face here. What was that you said about being over dogged. :-D It would take us over 2 years to go through all that.

A day later you must admit that the image of a fork lift full of food stuck in your drive is kind of funny. :) Funniest bit is your neighbour actually owns one. :-D

Conjures up all kinds of pictures in my mind!! Mud, rain, slippy feet, bags of dog food.....hope they enjoy it now and don't suddenly go "OFF" that variety!!

Life is fun...I swear I am going into hibernation for the winter

Took Summer,. Hunter and Ollie to the eye testing clinic at Dogs trust today,,, just back, exhuasted, and about to go get 12 bore for both Ollie and Hunter lol

It seems Hunter didnt appreciate being crated and left outside the car (inside trust compound) so he huffed and puffed and blew the house down... translate that to... escape from crate...  girl who was watching him do it couldnt do anything as she has MS and was amazed at how powerful Hunter was... thankfully he just came running over to me and no further... BUT.. I had Ollie bouncing in his usual fashion, and trying to stop him, AND hold hunter without a lead AND trying to keep them apart singlehandedly was a nightmare (they hate each other with a vengeance ) girls at trust all rally round to help and took a dog each... and sent them to jail lol... kennelled   at which point I nearly signed them over (joke lol) I went back to get Summer and she clipped her back paw on the metal ridge, and it caught her nail... so she is back on 3 legs again  after an unknown injury causing her to be on 3 legs last week for a few days

I also kept calling Hunter my little baby boy, and everyone laughed, because he is huge and very powerful as the girl trying to hold him discovered, then they saw Summer and said, oh what a lovely little puppy... NOOOOO says I, that tiny little mighty midget is this Brutes (Hunter) mother... one girl said... oooh... that big thing came out of her?? poor girl lolol

BUT, just to end the day nicely... they ALL passed the eye test
