We had an old type portable TV in the bedroom with a booster aerial.  We have now bought a 15.4" LCD with built in digital box but it will not work with the current aerial, we get a bad picture on the free view channels, but nothing on the main channels.  I have looked at the electrical store websites and can't see a LCD specific aerial listed, but I would guess people don't use the outside one in 'other' rooms of the house.

Has anyone got a small LCD running off a portable aerial?

Nope, we couldn't get our lcd/digi box to work off a portable aerial. What we did do was 'split' the main (outside) aerial and fed it through to the other room :) using a 2 way pin thingy from B & Q that you put your aerials into. Oh I can't explain on here but maybe someone else knows what I'm talking about and will explain properly

Thanks Missie.  I think we might have to get someone in.  We have an aerial on the roof but goodness knows where the cable is, our main TV is through Sky only.  I have rung four electric stores...........the one we bought it from says I need an outside aerial (could have told us at the time), the second said no problem using a portable one, the third didn't know and the fourth wasn't sure and would ring me back (6 hours ago).

I have a similar problem except I am viewing through cable.  When I tried to connect my roof aerial for some reason it has died.

I live in a hollow with a big hill that stops signals so you cannot use an internal set top aerial.

I suppose I could pay to have a new aerial (only had the old one put up 8 years ago), but I don't want to have to drill holes and put cables into the bedrooms and the dining room.

Is there not a wireless solution like you have with routers for the computer so that only one cable is needed and the rest can be run wireless.  As you have found the assistants in  shops selling TV's seem to know didllly squat about aerials.
