I took my lab for a follow-up visit for what has turned out to be a follicular cyst on her leg. She has had antibiotics for 10 days, and is to continue for another 10 - 600mgm twice a day - however, having paid, it turned out that the surgery had no 600mgm tablets, therefore she had to have 2 x 300mgm tablets instead - for which they charged me another £12.50  I expressed my amazement, but the receptionists said that was just the way it was.... As I should get it back from the insurance I didn't make a fuss, but surely this can't be right - can it??

Like everything, smaller packs cost more in ratio than bigger ones. They will no doubt put it down to packaging/delivery etc.

Surely though as it is their problem they didn't have the larger dose they should absorb any extra cost not the client.

Yes, precisely, that's what I would have thought!

Don't get me started on vets and the way they charge!

Argument would be they cant stock everything at once. Boots wouldnt absorb the price in similar circumstances.

Nor would an online vet pharmacy. You'd either have to pay for medication now or wait.
