Has anyone got one of these?

Its a kettle but you don't have to keep boiling water everytime you want a cuppa as the kettle keeps it hot all day and you just press a button and the water gets pumped out into your cup!!
Just been round my friends house and she has one!! She got hers from Asia, but a quick search on the net and I found one!! :D :D

It is suppose to save on electric and reduces limescale etc:

Haven't got one of those but do have an eco-kettle which you fill up and then dispense exactly the right amount of water to boil for one cup, two cups etc. Boils really quickly and just the right amount for the number of cuppas you are making :)

When we are camping I put any excess hot water in a stainless steel flask so as not to waste it and then use it for either washing up or washing :)

I've got one!  they're great:cool:

The water where I live is very hard and full of chalk and this kettle has the filters built in, so saves on worktop space as we can dispense with the water filter jug!

It also filters cold water (well room temperature) as well

No Tefal have just brought out the Quick Cup.  Best to google it to find out more information, as I'm not very good at explaining how it works!

only problem about that I see is, in my neck of the words if you dont empty the keetle most times you boil it, it tastes like swimming pool water!!! you have to empty it after ever 2-3 boils.
would one that re heats it create the same????
Lea :)

it doesnt reheat it.  it only heats the water that it uses.  the water is passed over an element to heat it in approx 3 seconds.  the rest of the water is kept pre filtered.

That is what I thought. I was confused with the OP post and thought she had picked it up wrong. I cant' see anyone today bringing out a kettle that would keep the water hot all day. Especially as we are on a ECO drive.

sorry guys got it wrong!!
I popped out to walk the dogs this morning and sods law my superkettle had tried to be delivered!!! now got to wait tell tomorrow before I can get it! :(
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 13:03 UTC
:-) :-) You knew what you meant :-))))))

Fingers crossed it is there tomorrow. Must the one just heats a cup in a few seconds. You can give us a good update tomorrow :-)

The Quick Cup either dispenses hot(not boiling) or cool water

I've got a Tassimo which uses discs with Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate etc in them & the machine only heats up the water that the disc tells it to in the bar code on it. I prefer this as I don't drink much Tea/Coffee etc, as the water is so hard here I use Britax filtered water to top it up. Make a good cup of Tea/Coffee etc even makes a Cappuccino

Is the hot not as is description only?  It does hot and cold..    not as in it does hot ( but not boiling) :-) :-D if you get my drift.

I think it is still boiling water , looks like it from the TV ad anyway. Can't see it being only hot.
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 14:26 UTC
The water Temp for the hot is 85C so not boiling
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 14:07 UTC
Tassimo looks quite good  :-) Can the packaging be recycled?
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 14:28 UTC
Mine came in cardboard & polystyrene if memory serves me right & the coffee etc come in sealed plastic bags inside there are cardboard boxes with the pods of coffee etc inside. The cardboard can be recycled of course not sure about the rest

Just been having a look apart from the colour is there variations of this Tassimo?   That would suit our house actually..
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 14:32 UTC
The machines are all the same, I sometimes "fool"mine by using a previously used "pod"to get water to make a Cafetiere of coffee. Tesco's just had an offer on the pods & they have come down from £3.20 to £2.99 for a pack

I don't know where the kettle is haven't used it since my Dad passed away
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 15:06 UTC
I'll maybe buy one for my husband as part of his Xmas LOL :-) always struggling for ideas ..  do you think he will be impressed lol.

Was just a bit concerned about all the packaging of the little plastic pods. As once you open a box of tea or a jar of coffee there is no waste. Not that I am super enviromentally freindly just the opposite BUT I am trying hard to get a grip on my household waste. :-)

We had a Tassimo at work.  I was really dissapointed with the crema and especially the cappucino froth.  Looked great on the TV ad, looked like you had spat on it in real life   Perhaps it was because I have a real bean to cup Gaggia coffee machine at home and there is nothing quite like that, but I am a coffee addict.
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 15:16 UTC
LOL my Crema & Cappucinos are fine but I do use filtered water & two milk pods for the Cappucinos ;-)
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 15:22 UTC
TWO MILK PODS.. you are on the environmental naughty step :-D :-D  joking apart just red the reviews on Amazon and a few comment on the packaging. I better not buy it as I am already a sinner :-) ;-)
- By Reesy [gb] Date 25.10.07 15:25 UTC
just saw this in argos......very good :-D
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 16:30 UTC
Amazon have them for £79.
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 15:39 UTC
Go on be a lil devil LOLOLOLOL I recycle loads & only end up with a tiny bag of waste each week LOL it gets lost in the huge wheelie bin I have ;-)
- By Blue Date 25.10.07 16:29 UTC
LOL Oh I am so ashamed I couldn't tell you how much we waste and that is my trying :-)
- By Moonmaiden Date 25.10.07 16:58 UTC
ROFLMAO

Well I picked my Superkettle up from the parcel place this morning and its BRILLIANT!!! :D
Had to boil and empty water a few times before using it though, was so impatient as wanted to start using it straight away!! :D
It keeps the water just below boiling point and you just put your cup under the nozzle and either pump the hot water manually or press a button and hay presto!!!
I will probably become more of a coffee junky now though as just love using it!!! :D :D
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 27.10.07 09:54 UTC
I bought my father 2 years back a Jura S9 coffee maker which can also give you just hot water for tea.
I love tthe machine but the price was high at over £1200. It does make a nice cup of coffee depending on the bean you select and it looks good too. It can heat up milk in seconds and has a container for your milk which instantly froths your milk up. http://www.hirschs.co.za/productimages/s9_avantgarde_-_popup%20-%2013208.jpg
