Well it will be if the government listen :)

Helping to raise the profile of ex racing greyhounds who need homes I think is a good thing.  Might help more people think of them as an ideal pet :)

This is awful. A friend of ours had a racing greyhound and we did fall out over it as it is not something i feel happy about but they did give him a home when he retired!

I think they are very sweet although i don't know much else about the breed.:cool:

Whys it awful?  Finally somethings trying to be done to stop retired greyhounds being killed.

The chap who killed them with the bolt didnt commit any animal cruelty acts though, was prosecuted for depositing waste. Which makes me wonder, what about our old friends when we bury them, are we allowed? Its my garden (field really) and when my oldies pass, I like them home.

I do think that, if there really is a problem with aftercare of retired greyhounds then something needs to be in place to help them. Although, goodness knows how the rescue people will cope. I do think however, there are far worse things that can and do happen to these lovely dogs that are far worse than an injection or bolt.
