Hello all. Haven't posted in a while, but finally I'm back :). I have a question (actually my friend from back home does) about where to find a place for their camper van when going to Crufts next year. They are driving from Slovenia with a relatively large camper and want to find a Camping space (not sure how you guys call that) near the venue. They don't mind booking now if necessary. They also want to know about parking on the day itself....
Thanks so much for your help guys!

I've always seen them simply parked in the Car parks, there aren't any hook up facilities etc though, but certainly people do park overnight.

Thanks for that. I shall let them know. They just wanted to know where they can park their camper so it's not too far from the venue. :)

They could find a local campsite :)

Just visit the caravan club website, or the AA camping website or even www.yell.co.uk. There are loads about!!

Or maybe stay at a Service Station with the coaches and lorry drivers for the night.  There is a fee but I don't think it's too expensive.

Warwick Services on the M40 allow overnight parking, if that's any help.

I wouldn't advise wild camping at a service station area, it's just to dodgy and IMO not worth it. Try the camping and caravanning club website, or to be honest, if your van is equiped for wild camping, stay at the NEC, at least they have some security. You could always ring them perhaps to ask their advice. I bet they get asked this question, no end of times?

i wonder if they have to pay each day, or just to get out?

As we are talking about the NEC I doubt they would be happy with a regular parking fee

I have stayed overnight in the car park previously, when hubbie could come with me (if not I catch the train).  There were about 30 odd motorhomes/campers come the end of the night, some people were even sleeping in their cars....

We made sure we got there late so we did not add to the chaos of people trying to get out of the car park after their day of showing - we arrived at the West Car Park at about 9pm.

We paid the same fee as everyone else to get out the following evening after we had finished showing, it was fine.

Thanks so much for all your help! I'm pretty sure they'll find a safe place to stay........ I am also sure they won't be the only campers from continental Europe, so they can share info amongst themselves.
