hi i was after a bit of advice. could anybody who has springer spaniels tell me an approx age for a bitch first season as not quite sure when to expect it.

From 5-6 months onwards.

I strongly suggest you buy a copy of 'The Book of the Bitch' by J.M. Evans and Kay White - it has all the information every bitch owner needs to know, written in very easy-to-understand terms. :)

ok well mags is 7 months so i could expect it soon. yes someone did tell me about that book. were could i buy it from.

Amazon, if you want to buy over the net (with the current postal situation it wouldn't be my first choice) or you can order it from any bookshop (many good ones will already stock it) or large pet stores.

My Goldens have come in anywhere between six months to fourteen months and then run at regular 9 month cycles. My ess's before they were spayed came in at 7 months and then were dead on 6 months after.
