Hope this makes sense!  My puppy has just finished her first season, started 3 weeks ago.  Her Mother had her last season at the start of Feb, usually comes into season every 6 months.  She was late coming into season (by about a month, should have been due start of August), but when her pup came into season, she did aswell, a week later as I thought she would.
I've just checked them both, as I hadn't seen any blood drops on the ground for a few days.  Both of them have no discharge and swelling has gone back down alot.  As expexted for the puppy, but her mum is only on day 14 (bearing in mind that she ovulates late, did her last mating on day 17).  We are not having any more puppies from her, but is this short season anything to worry about?
We were considering getting her spayed, as after her last season she was very, very sad.

She might not have ovulated this time, which might make the season shorter.

If she hasn't ovulated this time don't be surprised if she comes in season again within about three months.
