I have to create a Power point presentation on the use of colour coding in the cleaning industry. I have used 5 slides Welcome, what is colour coding, tools of the trade and where to use them. I need one more slide to finish but am stumped. Thought about usung some sort of easy to remember slogan to sum up.
Any ideas?
Colours are Red= toilets Blue = general areas Green = medical areas and Yellow kitchen areas
Thanks

Why not include a slide giving the implications of not using colour coding to emphasise the need for them ?

Good idea, will try that. just need to round off presentation then
Why not finish with a shot of the tv programme "rainbow" with "Any Questions?" on it.

Have you thought about say using a traffic light system? Blue being everywhere...so general areas and the rest listed as red/....danger toilets....green cross code for medical and mellow yellow for kitchens??

have you thought a bout people who are colour blind? they have difficulty seeing certain colours?maybe stick with your chosen colours but use an alternative for people who are colour blind?

Liisa, it 'aint something that tends to be a problem when your doing a little bit of a presentaion is it?? Surely those that are colour blind will make people at work aware of their disability(if that's how they see it) and you can mark each mop by writing the colour if they need it done, then they can work and safely use the right mop? These things are designed and coded and used by Hospitals and Nursing homes and every other sort of business. The colours are the same so everyone knows which colour means which place it should be used?? That way people dont get confused or mixed up? It's like saying lets change the colour of every traffic light??? It can't be done! These are universaly marked work implements, not something that the poster has thought up to use??
All the best, Dawn

Yeah, understand what you are saying but Dawn is right. Its pretty universal and its only a 10 min thing as part of a course I am doing just for others on the course.
Thanks for the Rainbow idea...even put the music on LOL

I appreciate that but isnt the purpose of a presenation - something that people wil remember ? Do people not consider colour blind people when givingn a pres?
If you use basic colours this is hardly memorable - so what about using diff colours - pink for example.???
im not explaining this very well lol

?????? we dunno wot you mean then??? Star is probably doing something like the 7301(as it used to be, or summit like that!!!) Teaching certificate and just needs to finish the presentation! It's only an exercise to demonstrate the teaching ability, not the content of the presentation! Star can't change the colours as I tried to say! The colours are universally applied to these implements of the cleaning trade...so how can she change them??
I need a lie down in a dark room 'cos me brain aches! :D
