I walk my three Bern's with my best friend and her JRT (short legged rough coated bitch..very lovable)
My three often catch rabbits when out as we have Mexi' about and the bunnies are not well.
This morning Pepsi (my oldest 5 and a half.) caught a bun, Floydie (JRT) joined in the chase but did not take part in the catch, but she then went up to Pepsi and calmly took the Bunnie off her, Pepsi just let her, she proceeded to parade about with her trophy and my three followed her waiting for a morsel (they usually eat any they catch, they share!) Floydie was finally persuaded to relinquish her Bunnie and I hung it in a tree (for the ??? whoever foxy, buzzard) My three are so much bigger stronger and more confident but they never challenged Floydie? Why was that do you think. Floydie has a habit of standing up against their chests and licking their flews, a habit we have put down to her being submissive but today's action would beg to rule that out...she certainly was not submissive then?

We have a Golden Retriever and a terrier. Our GR will let the terrier take anything off him even food from his bowl if I don't watch them while they eat. The terrier is only a youngster - 6 months - so this may be down to him being given some puppy licence but our GR is such a gentleman that it may just be his temperament that lets Cooper get away with anything.

The GR caught a squirrel again on Monday and let a friend's collie take it off him without a murmur.
