This was on the TV this morning and the amount they saved compared with being in an old folks home was amazing

But there is no comparison really because nobody is actually caring for them :) What happens if they are ill ? Where do they do their washing ?

What a life stuck in one room all day. What on earth do they do all day ???? Travel Lodges are fine for a night or two but I would never want to actually live in one

You must have had a bad one JG only bad ones I have found are in and around london or Windsor. All the ones around Stafford, Birmingham etc are really good.

I am one of the fussiest people on the planet and suffer from very bad home sickness at times and a traveller freind of mine suffers really bad panick attacks between us ( I know what a pair :-D )   we manage now using the travel lodges. Each hotel is the same so if you stay in them say one per month you almost become familiar to them and dont feel home sick.  They bedding and bathrooms are always spotless which is one of my phobias. 

I agree with Blue. The Travelodges I have stopped in are great. Clean, comfortable!

Unless of course your used to 4 poster beds, a butler at the door and a fridge full of caviar JG ;)

Hey Tracey even if you were they are still very clean and adaquate for an over nighter ..  I am so fussy about where I sleep.  After the first 2 or 3 stays getting over my homesick issues I was fine. I can arrive at 10pm the night before a show, get to sleep no problem.   I am probably only every in the 10 hours for sleeping but I have not problem.   I did have a stinky room in London once but got them to move me to a better room and they refunded my money also.

We had a big joint show last year with our clubs and the location had accomodation.( not TL)  When I saw it I nearly cried.  I couldnt believe people were considering staying.  My freind and I never stayed .

We stayed in one in Croydon on saturday night!
we were on the 10th floor and it was awful! the sheets were threadbare and the room smelt!
we stay in them often as its an escape from the kids for a night!
all the ones on the A55 have been great as have the ones on the M6

What happens if they are ill ?
I know, but I guess they don't need care yet and from what they said they are treated like family by the staff :) . They still have a flat in Sheffield so I guess they go home to do their washing? Who knows? I wouldn't want to live in one either but ... :D

I have heard of elderly people living in hotels before - it's not that unusual - but living in a Travel Lodge is :D :D :D Most choose a nice hotel by the seaside, with a lovely view and the promenade to walk along :) :) :)
