I personally thought it was cheek :-)  I have no issue with us adding metric details to packaging etc but I think it is really bad they thought they could change everything. That is a breach of Human rights itself .

Total metrication was something that was agreed many many years ago & the completion was originally set for 1978 and has since been delayed a number of times. Metrication was a precondition of the UK's membership of the European Economic Community. Nothing to do with the current Government, but done to the Late Ted Heath & those who voted yes in the referendum to joint the European Economic Community

I was a child in Infants school during metrication.

So I think in cm, and metres when it comes to maths, but my Home economics was done in ounces and pounds, so I can't to this day visualise what a KG looks like other than a bag of sugar, but pounds and ounces no problem.  Same think with liquids, pints and fluid ounces.

I never had money before we changed so have no idea about old currency.
