Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Good quality mixer?
- By luvhandles Date 08.09.07 21:47 UTC
Hi,

Further to my Naturediet and mucus covered poo post, I am thinking of adding a bit of mixer in with it to bulk it out - I explained that my little Cav still seems hungry after 1/2 pack per day but develops mucus covered poo if I feed any more. I thought by adding a good quality mixer, he might feel fuller and also, going off the adding bran to food to help anal glands theory, I thought if I can find a good quality wholemeal mixer, it will work in the same way as adding bran? Can anyone recommend a mixer and how much would you add to half a pack of naturediet for a 8.5kg CKCS - (I split the food into two meals per day).

Thanks

Hayley

Hi Hayley,

Laughing dog do a very good wholemeal mixer that is baked. If you google it as I am not sure how to put the link on here it comes up.

I'll second Laughing Dog mixer, it's 100% wholemeal with no nasty additives. I mix about a handful to 1/3 pack of Naturediet for my whippet twice a day and she seems to be doing fine. They do two sizes but for a Cav I would recommend the 'puppies and small dog' size.

Thankyou for the advice - I have been looking at the Burns mixer but it's nice to have one recommended. Can you buy laughing dog in any shops or is it internet only?

Thanks

Hayley

I think the burns mixer is not great to be honest when you weight up the cost. It comes in small bags and is the same price as complete.

I would go with LD.. BTW LD are not the manufacturer of Nature choice mixer. It is made in the LD factory.

A45 southbound just outside Rugby!  Between Stretton-on-Dunsmore roundabout and Dunchurch M45 roundabout.

I contacted Laughing Dog ages ago to find a stockist in my area.  They were able to tell me that they only supplied to a local distributor.  So I rang the distributor and they were able to tell me that they supplied other products to a local independent pet shop and advised that I ask the owner to order it for me; which he did with no problem at all :)
