Instead of planting bulbs in the garden  how about planting them in plastic pots then when they are almost ready to flower plant the pots......yes ....plant the pots in your border where you have gaps. Then when they have finished dig to pots up you have no unslightly dying down foliage a devil in small gardens....and replace the pots with the next thing ie Daffs replaced with Tulips....what do you think? Good idea eh?

we used to sell bulb baskets which you planted when i worked at a mail order plant company, i would guess it's the same principal???  i never plant bulbs to be fair so maybe way off the mark.

Yeap tied it and it works. I have a small garden so dying foliage drives me crazy. This was I have a gap in goes a pot or 10:rolleyes: the daffs die down and out they come and in go the tulips.

Love that idea, I'll try that next year.  I've had bulbs coming up all over the place since the end of January, seems as if the last people planting things randomly!
