We are off to New Forest next week camping!! Flea protection is due for Roscoe CKCS 16 months old.
We have only used Frontline before and been ok with it and I want to make sure he is fully protected before we go so which product do all you CD'ers recommend?
Thank you
Lozi

Take a bottle of Frontline spray with you so that you can spot-treat ticks if he catches them. A tick-hook would be a good thing to take as well.

We use stronghold on ours because it takes care of fox something or other too (mange I think)and we get loads of foxes around our area.....

Stronghold doesn't kill ticks though, and they're very common in the New Forest area.
yeah, thats why we use frontline cause the stronghold doesnt do ticks.
Frontline spot on is not so effective with the ticks down here anymore. I use advantix which does fleas and ticks just like frontline, but rather than killing them when they attach it repels them altogether. I have had hardly any ticks this year since swapping to advantix. I agree a good tick hook is also a good buy. I like the green o tom ones.

I had stopped using Frontline completely as I also use garlic and JG suggested some time ago that I should put my money where my mouth was and just use the garlic :D :D :D :D However, since we have been going up to Norfolk and Bramble (in particular) has been picking up ticks left, right and centre, I had started using it again. I am sure that the ticks come from hedgehogs (as he only goes off lead in our garden there) and they could also give fleas :( Now I am having doubts again as to whether it is worth using it at all, as he gets the ticks so frequently and I don't want to overdose him with Frontline :( :(

I use frontline spray and am also in possession of a large pair of tick tweezers (not very exciting story attached).
