I've just got this game and am having great fun. But I've got a few questions if anyone on this forum plays it? I've taught my puppies lots of commands, but I don't know how to actually get them to do things using voice commands except when the training prompt comes up. When I talk into the microphone normally, nothing happens, and when I entered an obedience competition, neither the microphone commands or the touch screen commands worked - unless she was ignoring me, ha ha!

Also, when training the 'twist' / 'spin', it says in the training book to hold or pull the tail, but when I do this, sometimes they spin, and sometimes they bark and roll on their backs, and yelp, and if I tickle their tummy they yelp more - at least it sounds like yelping more than barking? What does it mean if they roll over and 'play dead' - I don't think it's a trainable behaviour because the training prompt doesn't come up.

Last quick question, isn't there a bed or basket anywhere to buy for them to sleep on? :-)

You tap on the dog when its in the room and it will come over to you then you can do the voice commands, my daughter and i found it incredibly hard lol so stayed away from the obedience trials as the blasted dogs never listened and if it was real i would have probably hit it over the head..

You sort have to manipulate the dog into a trick using the scratch!

Say you want him to roll over, scratch his head till he falls on the floor and start scratching his tummy, when he is on the floor on his back he should have a sign come above his head and you say 'Roll over' when you see it, it takes a while, but all my pups do everything by voice now, im so proud! :D :D

Dont think it works on the trials tho?

OK, I've whistled for them, and tapped too, and when they come over (which isn't always!) I've been saying 'sit' into the microphone. 9 times out of 10 I got nothing, but once for each puppy they did sit, so I did the horizontal head stroking and got the little gold sparkles you get when they learn by the touch pad, and then they lie down on their side. Does the sit and sparkles mean they've understood the voice command?

The sparkle shows theyre liking what your doing

They should get a question mark or something come over theyre head and you have to say the command right at that time!
It takes a while to get them to do it as just like a real dog, they wont listen everytime!! :D

I've only seen the question mark during the actual training, when the 3 question marks means they didn't understand, and the single one means it sounds like another command they already know. I think I got one of mine to sit, down and roll over by voice, and got sparkles when I patted him, so hopefully we're learning. My other puppy is rather more stubborn!! Any guess as to why they keep rolling onto their backs and squeaking when I hold their tail, when the instruction book says that should make them spin round? It does make them spin sometimes, but sometimes it just makes them roll on their back!!

The question mark when it appears only once means that they have understood and learnt it as far as I know.

And with the tail I think you have to spin it for them! IE grab the tail and spin it round infront of theyre head so they see it and chase it??

Seems like youre doing well, :) what sort of pups do you have?

According to my manual the single question mark means your command sounds too much like something else. When they understand a command you get a lightbulb, and when they learn it you get sparkles and a prompt to type in your command word. Then from what others have said you still need to teach them to respond to the verbal commands. I've got Cavaliers, just like the real world - can't find one with a cocker yet though! :-) One of them is great at agility but refuses to obey verbal commands, and the other one is less good at agility (haven't had him as long though) but is getting quite good at the verbal commands. It's great fun, but I hope they don't leave home when I get back from holiday and spend all my time with the real dogs instead! :-D
