I went to see the showjumping at Stafford County Showground today. In 4 hours I counted about 15 accessory dogs - chihuahuas, jack russells - anything tiny enough to put a stupid jacket on and be carried about to choruses of "how cuuuuuteeeeee"

Worst thing of all was a pink holdall, with a mesh front - that had a dog inside!! Woman stuck it next to her seat nad left it there whilst she watched the showjumping.

Pointless.

there is a lady who lives near me who has a chihuaha and its always in a pink coat sometimes trousers:eek:
i have seen her on occasions when the dog is even in a hand bag i dont think people realise that a dog is a pet not something to be paraded round

was watching GMTV this morning and there were dogs on there with wigs and hair extensions  i think some people would go to extreme to make their dogs perfect so they can turn their nose up at others

Some people do take it to the extreme, but weren't the toy breeds originally bred to be carried? I've never been interested in one as I like my dogs to be real dogs  ;) They have to be big enough for me to see rather than step on :D

Mete my 3 kg papillon Bobby LindyLou and you'll see he is very much a real dog because he has always been TREATED like one. People are always so surprised to see him do obedience, somehow not even the vet could believe a small dog CAN do the same as a big one. Well he most certainly can! It's all down to what the owners do with their dogs.

I used to live near an elderly lady that had a poodle called Jason, she used to dye his fur, Blue, Brown or yellow and sometimes pink:mad:
It always seemed to change colour when ever she went to the hairdressers herself and had her hair done.
As young kids we used to take the micky out of her and the dog, but now I am an adult I can see how stupid it really was :rolleyes:

My aunt got her new carpet to match the colour of her poodle...............

I take it she doesn't have a black poodle then. :-D

- By LindyLou [gb] Date 30.08.07 16:19 UTC
That's a good excuse :D Do you think it would work on my neighbours yap-a-doodle, oops, I mean Jack-a-doodle ;)

There's a certain sense in getting carpets to match the dog so they don't show the hair. :D (At least, there is when your housekeeping is like mine ;) ). I'd be more worried by someone that got a dog to match the carpet.

I used to do voluntary work at the local cat rescue, and someone came in once to look at the cats then started discussing with their friend which one would match the curtains. The warden told them they were not suitable to home one of the cats; they were very surprised.
