well my lot have just had their 1st does of puppy drontal....but whose bright idea was it to dye it bright pink??? now they all look like they have lipstick on and one of them has bright pink toes i have sponged off best i can, but do you think its harmful?

But at least you can tell easily which pups you have dosed :D :D Doubt whether it is harmful - some children's medicines are very lurid colours :)

That's what we always say too; with a large litter of pups all the same colour, you CAN tell who's been done. :D

Doubt it's harmful - it is made to be injested - but it is a pain to get off

resorted to painting over a lovely splatter pattern left from worming the puppy with it last year - when she managed to spit it up the wall and onto the ceiling!!

Can I ask whats wrong with using Panacur, is it only regarding pups?

We lost a pup two days after using it and it was not a nice death, all three pups became seriously ill and I've had numerous PM's and e-mails from other people whose pups also died or had the same symptoms.  We lost one of the other pups 2 weeks after.  Luckily one is still alive and a real character, she's wonderful!!!

It may not have been anything to do with the wormer of course, but I will never use it again, just not worth the worry.  Used to use it years ago with never any problems.

I used panacur on my dogs, all adults, well I usually use Drontal but had a change last time, and wondered if it had potential danger for adults.

I always wear an apron when worming with drontal now, there is always one or two of the little ones who decide to dribble it out.:rolleyes:

my lot had their second dose this week, and I'm pleased to say I think I've got the hang of it, straight down in one, very little spitting, and only 1 dribbler!!

now of course at 6 weeks might be a whole different story (but white t-shirts are a definite no-no!! LOL)

I remember puppy drontal very well.  We used to end up with pink dribble all over us and as they got bigger and we tried to use it up the dogs were having so much it just wasn't worth the hassle.  We ended up putting them on the tablet form.
