Topic Dog Boards / General / Black Dog collar The Bourne

Wow I am amazed, I have just test driven this collar on my Mad Dog Merlot who pulls like the draught animal she is (All 8 stone of her :eek:)
I have had the most peaceful unarmwrenching walk ever with her...so impressed I came home and got Treacle out as well (Normally only take 'em one at once on a road walk as 24 st of Bernese seeing a C.a.t.  is a recipe for disaster :mad:) put Treac on the halti as she will tolerate it and after a short while,  came home again and got Pepsi on the normal collar (She is not quite so difficult.)
It's the first time since I broke my knee that I felt able to cope with all three together. I am going straight back on the net to order two more Black Dogs. Once again we shall be able to walk in harmony and it will cut my road walking time down to one outing with all three rather than three outings one at once. :cool::cool::cool: Thanks to CD as I read about this collar on here, you have transformed my road walking.
Aileen, Pepsi, Merlot and Treac' X.X.X.X.

Sorry too late to edit the heading.

I remember reading about this before (think it was Tohme who mentioned it). Have you tried other headcollars with Merlot? I've tried almost all of them I think (canny collar, halti, gentle leader, dogmatic, dogalter, gencon) but resorted to a half check in the end as my dog still pulls on all those headcollars to a more or lesser degree especially if he spots, or think he spots, a squirrel or a cat and he very quickly ends up with an awful bald stripe across the nose which then gets sore looking (he's a Dobe so v.thin hair). The half check is do-able and he's not as bad as some dogs I've seen but he does have moments where the lights are on but nobodies in - wonder if one of these would make it easier.

The strap round the nose is loose for most of the time as it loops round from under the neck it only exerts pressure if they pull and believe me Merlot can pull when she wants. We met a C.A.T. and she was about to try to eat it but as soon as she felt the strap tighten she stopped as if by magic...I am sure it;s not right for everyone but it is for her. I have ordered two more now so will let you know how we get on with the others. They have tried it but obviously I can only take one at once in the one collar!! we shall see when they have one each.

Sounds good, I also have a 8stone plus dog that can pull when she feels like it! :D
I use a Halti on her but doesn't seem to be that good, unless its me!
What are these Infin8 made from?  I was told that the leather head harness was a good one but not sure where you get them from :D

Well I am a bit tempted :D Just not sure whether he might still pull on it regardless - doesn't seem to give a hoot when the other headcollars we've tried tighten, but this one does look different. Could open my own pet shop with all the stuff I've got that we don't use.

How do you do that????:eek::eek:
- By zarah Date 28.08.07 19:16 UTC Edited 28.08.07 19:18 UTC
It's simple really :D

You just highlight the website address, right click and copy. Then back in the Champdogs window after you've hit reply and are composing the message click the url button above the faces and paste the website address after url= (make sure you keep inside the brackets). Then you put a word inbetween the ][ brackets and that's the word that will show in the message (I used the word 'here' in my previous message).
