Is my memory playing tricks? I was casting my mind back to when I first started showing dogs, back in the early 70s, and I'm sure that on entry forms there was a space for 'selling price'. However before showing dogs I used to show mice and cavies, and it's perfectly possible that the price box was on the entry forms for those and not the dogs. I'm fairly sure, though, that there would be selling prices alongside the names of the entrants in the Crufts catalogues of those days.

Can anyone confirm?

no your memory is not playing tricks and infact i am reading the most amazing book at the moment, written in i think the 30's and the author talks baout "selling price" and how some people were quite fond of their show dogs, not wishing to sell them so filled in a price of many hundreds of guineas to stop anyone buying them!!
