What causes pale gums and tongue other than anaemia (which a bloodtest has ruled out)? Could it just be that some dogs are naturally paler than others?

If the dog always has pale gums then it may well be that that is the norm for that dog. If a dogs gums or the lining of the eye sockets becomes pale then that is a sign to take it to the vet urgently, particulaly if the dog appears unwell. It is a sign of clinical shock or internal bleeding. I'm sure in your case it is just the natural colouring, as you have had a clear blood test and your vet has checked the dog, I would not worry unless the dog has other symptoms. JH
