I have contacted several breeders of a particular breed trying to find a puppy. One breeder has a puppy available with another litter due but another breeder has told me that this particular breeder is a puppy farmer that although hasn't as yet been prosecuted by the RSPCA it's a close run thing. What do I do? I don't want to buy from a disreputable breeder - how do I find out if this is mere rivalry or fact? Both breeders are happy for me to visit.
Please could someone with more experience of these things give me some advice.
Thank you

i agree, visit the first one, youd get a feel of the way things are--sadly some folk cant cope with others sucsess. its just happened in my breed where someone looking for pups visited someone ,when told who else they where visiting they where told not to bother as the others where puppy farmers etc--also the person they where visiting at the time was top breeder---this was a pack of lies, --the person they where visiting isnt top breeder, however the one she told them not to visit is!!! a very very respectable one at that-i got my foundation from her, thankfully the people realised what sort of person they where dealing with and left- :( so if i where you, id look for myself
