Hi All

Its time for my Newfie to have a good old bath this weekend and after spending this month a nice figure of £450 on a Metro Master Blaster, Pro-line shampoo, Superfine Cream Rinse, Ingenya Balsamo Nutriente/conditioner and 2 Les Poochs brushes, purple double head and red matt zapper i can hardly wait.
I have used the blower which is fab and I am so glad I've brought one. It really got the dust out of big mud monster Bruce Best off all he loves it!!
I'm also very happy with both the brushes which first reactions are very good. They are very easy to use like a slicker but running in the direction of the hair and the matt zapper did handle the few matts I found without the need of cutting or playing with it with my hands but in fairness Bruce is a well groomed dog The long and firm pins are bent like a slicker but with little effort or pressure required.
I have it all worked out, shampoo first then rinse, cream rinse then rinse then I will spray on the Ingenya and leave a few mins then I will just blow him off and then a good brush. I can't wait to see what he looks and smells like!!
Perhaps after his bath I will be able to give him a big hug and not smell like the local fields and ponds but I guess I will still get drooled on.

and the really, really wonderful thing about bathing dogs is....

when you take them out that evening and they go swimming then roll in something disgusting! Have fun :D :D

I am very interested, as I have Bernese and struggle like hell trying to groom and dry them after a bath! :D
I keep asking my OH to put a wet room in our house to make it easier to shower/bath them, I don't like bathing them too often though, but now we are back showing I would like to take clean dogs! :D
Its ever that or pay a groomer to do it for me!!

try sparying Mane and tail its a horsey spray just before you blast him. its great for getting that under coat out.

Thanks for the tip on the spray. Will have to try some out on him.

Bruce by the way is my first ever Newfie and its been an experience I waited till I thought he had calmed down a bit before getting a blower and I was worried when I first tried it on him but he loves it and just stands there while I blast him off. I notice that when I rub his back his tongue flickers like a snake and he does the same when I blast him.
Have to say those Les Poochs brushes are fab. I've really gone for it today and they are very good. I like to try different equipment out just to see what they are like. I also love my furminator which is a fantastic tool for taking the loose undercoat out.
I do spoil him but he is my baby

We have taught our bernese to stand on the grooming table and be blasted dry as they dont have as much room for manouver there as the floor.  Trying to blast dry a bernese on a floor is no fun you spend more time following them around than you do drying them!  Though you have to make sure you hold the table while they have their initial shake when they come out the bath or they would tip the whole lot over, does mean you get a bit wet though I get OH to hold the dog and I hold a towel up in front of myself so that I miss most of it :D
