Topic Other Boards / Foo / Kirschwasser - good quality Black Forest Kirsch
- By Lori Date 14.08.07 16:59 UTC
I'm counting on the varied knowledge of the CD board to help me find some Schladerer Kirsch (or another really good Kirsch from the Black Forest). Ever since I saw Heston eat Black Forest Gateau in that German cafe I've been on a mission to make my own. Anyone have a secret supplier? All I can find with google is the standard grocery store varieties.

I'll be needing volunteers to help me eat it too or I won't fit through the door anymore :-D

Heston Blumenthal.  Personally, I think his mother should have told him to stop playing with his food years ago :)

He's such a geek isn't he! Can't say I'll be making his version (excuse me but I'm not making home made aero bars using my Dyson!) nor will I be pulling out the blow torch for my Sunday roast. He does have some pearls of wisdom to take away though and I find it interesting to watch. :)

:D His enthusiam is inspiring if a little puzzling and definately exhausting :D

Found them but minimum shipping price was for a case :-D Don't know if I'm going to make that much cake. They have some nice wine from home so I may ask if they'll sell to a private person. :)

It'll have organic stone-ground wild rice which was grown in mineral-watered paddy-fields and harvested at the new moon! ;) :D

Sounds a kindred spirit to my son with his marmalade and spring onion sandwiches :D :D :D

Oh that's just the food HG.  For your £350 he will endevour to complete your eating experience by creeping up behind you and spraying something appropriate up your nostril such as leaf mould if you are enjoying a truffle dish or perhaps dosh you on the head with a ladle so you can truly feel what it is to be an egg used in your omelete :)
- By Lori Date 14.08.07 18:05 UTC
Yes, I'm supposed to spray my very tasty and expensive kirsch around the room while eating the cake. Hah! only place I'll be spraying that is in me gob! :-D

You all can quit yer pushing - I'm not putting any snails or cauliflower in my gateau. :-D I'm going to make mine like Volker Gmeiner :-p re-thinking the invite and considering a move to big lycra pants
- By Isabel Date 14.08.07 18:18 UTC
We haven't told her about the snails, Lori

I dare not Isabel - she may never eat ice cream again!
