I wonder if anyone else thinks our pets dont really leave us? we were so heartbroken when we lost Ned in May  Ned was a german wirehaired pointer,we decided to go for  something entirly different breed wise so we got a Giant Scnauzer Pup (Gollie)
Gollie is so like Ned its uncanny.  We are convinced its our  Ned come back

Gollie gosh, so you're not the only one with a Gollie then Terri :d

Never had a reincarnate of another dog but we always laughed that Briarlow's Melvyn Delvin, was a reincarnation of the person that we named him after as not only was our Mel not interested in the women but he was also a cheeky little handful just like his namesake :d  The human Mel died 2 days before the dog Mel was born and he was so looking forward to seeing him as he owned the sire so we asked his partner if he minded us naming him after him.  Boy they were alike in character.

Maybe, Vixxi my 10 month  old pup acts very much like Heidi who I lost 10 years ago.

Freya (aka Fanny Fatpants) is picking up a lot of Purdey's traits......but there again, Purdey did have her for the last 12 months of her life :)

Ollie (AKA Spawn of Satan) should be a quietly intelligent plodder of a Lab.. NOT.. he has all the traits of an adrenalin induced high drive working ESS... his charectaristics are so similar to my Megan, although I have never thought about re-incarnation... etc... I have often said to people that Megan has come back to haunt me (jokingly)... I lost Megan 18months before Ollie was born...

I do believe in reincarnation and all the stuff, but i also think dogs take on the traits of their owners and environment. For example, hyper, chatty owners often have dogs of the same tendency.Anxious nervous owners usually project the same on their dogs.I know this vile, nasty, aggressive woman, her dog is just the same

So is it reincarnation or just the way we bring up each of our own dogs in the same way?

>but i also think dogs take on the traits of their owners and environment<

One of mine is so laid back,  a bit lazy at times but can be quite forward and bossy when she puts her mind to it. The eldest one is so over the top and energetic and bouncy and nosy but can also be a bit moody. The youngest is very much in your face, extremely nosy, noisy, on the go most of the day, and gets into trouble every 10 minutes or so - :)  So I'll go along with that, they all take after me  :P :P

Seriously, I don't really believe in reincarnation, but I'd like to think their spirit never leaves us
