I am currently dogless and i am merely considering getting another dog (not a puppy) at some point (i lost my 2 boxers 4 months ago)
Not sure which breed to go for though..........if any.  for all you dog experts out there, is there any breed that would suit my circumstancies or should i wait?

I live alone in a medium sized flat, close to the beach.  i work part time 3 days per week, i am planning to take my dog to my sisters house when im working as well as employing a dog walker.  I love walking so my dog would accompany me most places.  I would prefer a larger dog but any breed will be considered.

Any thoughts?

Firstly, I'm so sorry you lost your 2 dogs so recently, loosing 2 at the same time must be really hard.

Trying to find out your preferences here:-

What sort of energy levels do you want?
Do you have a coat preference?
Do you like a very attentive breed or a bit more independent (ie working or hound types of temp?)
If you're not thinking of a boxer again, what did you like and dislike about them?

What floor are you on?  Do you have a lift or have to use the stairs?  Just thinking about the problems of helping an elderly large breed up and down stairs.

Retired Greyhound? :)

Great suggestion HG :)  If my mum could then she would love a retired greyhound.  Just do't see it fittting in the house literally with 6 setters!

I would agree, they tend not to be noisy and also very happy to be couch potatoes whilst in the home so not likely to be causing neighbour disturbance issues.
