Don't know if your all aware and sorry if this as already been posted but M&S have now done away with their NO EXCESS policies.
As from the 1st July 2007, not sure if this is just on new policies.
My cousin has just taken in a rescue dog and rang for a quote and was informed they no longer have policies with No Excess.
Just wanted to warn all you M&S customers beware when your renewal comes around and read the small print.
Will certainly be taking a good look at my 2 policies in september when they are due for renewal

Yes i spoke to them earlier on this month. Any renewals from now on will now be subject to an excess, around £50 for younger dogs and a %age for older dogs. No excess policies do not exist for any customers new or existing from now on.

TBH, even having a £50 excess, I think it would be hard to beat the cover offered with M&S.

Having had a relatively major claim ongoing with them, I really cannot fault them, and yes, Izzy's policy went from £127 last year to £202 at renewal this June, but it is still a good policy.

They have paid for everything for Izzy's cruciate tear so far @ £4000, ('cept the £50 excess) right down to paying our travelling costs to visit the Specialist Surgeon 6 times, as well as fuel costs to take her to hydro-therapy twice weekly.

To look at her now, you'd never know that she had ever had a problem with her knee ............. apart from the scar :)

I have to agree with you Choccymolly.  I have claimed thousands in this last year for my two dogs from M&S and it still costs less than £25 per month in total for their insurance.  Even with the £50 excess, I think my policies with them still represent very good value for money for the level of cover provided :)  And all my claims have been paid without question so far :)

i agree.Still very good value here for my two.

I do agree, i certainly still think the cover provided is better than petplan, and can't fault them for paying out. I just think its a little unfair to change the terms and conditions for the loyal customers when they are now stuck with marks and spencers. Another company did this a few years ago, starting off with a 0 excess policy, but when they found that had to introduce an excess they only made new customers pay it, the existing customers were allowed to keep their no excess.

Just out of interest, are there any pet insurers that have a no-claims discount policy, like motoring and some housing insurance?
