Topic Dog Boards / General / Going on Holiday

Well I am off on holiday today. I am so nervous as for the first time I am going completely on my own.

I heard about the holiday company on here and it sounded so good that I booked it soon after. I don't like travelling abroad or the heat of other countries that having an activity holiday is brilliant for me - EXPECIALLY when it is made for bringing your dogs.

This is where I am going -http://www.dogsforlife.co.uk

Won't be here for 5 days but will tell you when I get back how it went.
Thanks for who ever suggested it.

Have a good time, it sounds a brilliant holiday, specially seen as it's geared up for dogs as well :-)

I have looked at that site previously and thought what a great holiday that would be. Hope you have a brilliant time and looking forward to you reporting back on how it all went :)

Back now and had a brilliant week.
Monday was some obedience training, getting to know people and just walking dogs
Tuesday was a whole day for agility
Wednesday we all went to a river and padled with the dogs and some people swam
Thursday was a long walk in the malvern hills
Friday was a cycle ride in the Forest of Dean which was brilliant until Pesto stopped right infront of me and so I breaked very hard to not hit her and ended up falling off and grazing my hands badly on the gravel (ouch!)

I took the activity week holiday and had great fun, met some really nice people and generally had a lovely time of being out side all day. All the dogs got on really well and the training was great.
Would recomend it to anyone who would like to try some new activities with thier dog. Oh almost forgot we did flyball Wed and Thursday morning.

Really really fun and all positive reinforcement for the dogs.

Glad you had a great time (minus the grazed hands!). Sounds fab - think my Dobe would love all of that! What was the accommodation like?

Dorain did that stopping in front of the bike thing to me once, by the canal. I nearly fell in. :p (but not quite!).

Glad you had a good time. :) Did you take both dogs or just Pesto?

I only took Pesto this time as I didn't know what to expect. The accomodation was very nice. Nothing smart but comfy and warm.

Really glad you had such a great time - it sounds like you had a wonderful time :) (except for the grazes). Have any of the activities made you want to take them up on a regular basis?

I do agility all ready. I thought Pesto would like flyball but she only likes it when it gives out treats rather than balls!!! The week has made me get back into their obedience training - they are pretty good but I would like to continue it further so it has given me some more things to think about. Also Ziggi is a gundog who hates to put things in her mouth! but the trainer has given me some tips on changing that so that perhaps next summer we can go on a Gundog weekend.
