well guys tomorrow new pup is arriving, i can not beleave that tomorrow when i go for my weekly look at the pups she is going to be comming back with me:cool:, just hope Storm remembers her manners (what little she has) and does not get to excited, mind you it does not take much to get her jummping about the place, i am sure she has springer spaniel in her genes somewhere!!!!! (Helen and Dee will know what i mean). Any advise re the first introductions, i thought i would bring Storm out the front of the house so as they could meet their first? any other ideas greatfully recieved.

Depending on how far you have to travel, I always take the other dog with me so that they can get the smell of the puppy in the car all the way home and yet cannot gain access to the puppy. I don't make a big fuss about it but just talk to the older dog on the way home. I feel that the older dog doesn't feel left out in that they get a trip in the car and the don't have to come face to face with a complete stranger. That has always worked for me.

Hi there

Exciting times ahead for you :-)

When we've introduced a new pup into the house, we've always introduced them on some spare ground at the front of our house and then walked them all round a little before coming into the house, we've not had any problems that way.

Plus (i know this is hard, LOL) we've always tried not to make any fuss of the pup so the others know that they aren't going to be forgotten and that their lives are going to carry on in very much the same way.

Paula ;-)

Aww congratulations Julie :)
Hope everything goes ok today. If you can't take Storm with you then meeting outside for a few minutes before walking in together could be a good idea, only you will know how your girl is going to react to a new playmate :) I just took mine home, and had her on my lap whilst the other(s) sniffed and licked. Just remember don't leave the pup on the floor unattended cos you know how hard the big ones play  one whack of a playful paw can send a little one flying! :D
Fingers crossed for a  happy union :)

Well guys she has arrived, after a long journey home, should of taken 1 1/2 hours, but because of traffic and my awful sense of direction took nearer 3:eek:, Storm met her on the front lawn, and fingers crossed she seems happy with her. We have named her Leffey and she is a very confident, greedy and vocal pup. Time will tell but i am quietly confident that we will not experence to many problems.
