Just found out our new address in Wittering :D  Downside we will lose a garage and shed   So we are going to be extremely short on storage space

So..... we are going to have to store all our stuff somewhere....  Does anyone use these self storage places and if so, what are they like??  I am really struggling to find somewhere close to where we are moving to (the nearest so far is 60 miles away which is a little too far).

Anyone got any suggestions?? pleeeeassseeeeeeeee................ :D :D :D

If you could put it in storage, you don't need it anyway. Purge it all, your life will be better for it ...

I'd agree with that.............
When we moved to another island for a couple of years we packed various boxes of things, they came back here still packed and we decided not to look but to chuck! Never really missed anything..

Unfortunately, it is stuff that we use on a regular basis, ie all of hubby's DIY tools and materials etc, garden tools, lawn mower, a running machine, weights station, push bikes x 6, a roof box for the car, long ladders, step ladders, golf club set as well as all my course books, sewing machine etc etc.    We dont have the space indoors for any of this , ie no cupboards, storage cubbyholes or attic space so definitely wont have in the new house.

Yes we could get a shed but we have to get written consent to have one and the gardens are tiny.  Plus no access to back garden except through the house.

Is it possible you find a Lock-up garage close by to rent??  This is what many do locally as we all have terraced houses with tiny gardens ;)

Unfortunately it is a married quarters village.  Its the same with the other houses on the estate - no garage or even a front garden or parking facilities outside the house  .

Its just going from having a lovely huge detached married quarters house with front garden, private driveway attached garage and ok sized back garden to one that is unfortunately sub-standard (graded 3 out of 4 - we live in a grade 2) semi with no garage or front garden and a shared pathway.

I know that we are fortunate being in the forces to have such housing at all and at a reduced rent compared to the private market but it just feels a little disappointing when we have been waiting and praying for so so long for this posting and the house isn't what we expected, nor is it anything like any of the houses where we live now.

................... oh well, just got to hope that we can afford to buy our own place next year........... ;) :)
