I have a 2½ yr old male Labrador and I think he dislikes Collies.
There are 2 Collies in my road that are very tepid and he always got excited when he saw them, and once he went upto them to say hello and they growled at him, so ever since then he gets quite worked up when he sees them!
Since then another Collie from our road came up to him quite visciously and was trying to bite his hindquarters, and again, ever since then my dog and this Collie growl at each other.
And finally, I am in the process of a re-training class (mainly for dog socialing purposes really) and at this class there is a Collie, and guess what, my dog saw this dog initially and was ok, it was just when it came to them saying hello, that they started getting aggressive (growling). We kept them away from each other and they seemed fine, but then my dog kept tring to look at the Collie.
The guy that takes the class said to get my dogs attention and reward him for responding, which is ok, but for example this morning, my dog saw the two Collies and was doing his stupid aggressive bit, and we could just not get his attention!
Am I ever going to be able to get my dog to stop behaving like this?
P.S My dog has been castrated but only 6 weeks ago.

When my eldest dog was 4 months old he was bitten on the hind leg by a Red Belgian SD, and not only has he not forgotten, he is now 13, but somehow he seems to have passed his paranoia onto the others who now all hate red BSD's. No help I know, Jackie
