the results are up now!!!

The puppy I own jointly with 3 friends was Best Dog, Best of Breed and Best puppy in breed. We had a small quality entry of 18 present (including the current top winners), as we were judged without CCs.
His name is Camalot's Faithful Knight, and he is a Norwegian elkhound Puppy who will be 10 months tommorow! He was imported from the USA and came out of Quarantine 8 weeks ago.

Hi all,
I have been and done the deed.
My wee pup 7 months got 5th out of 5 , he would not stand, he was so naughty I felt like kicking his butt, I didn't though. He was running between my legs , would not open his mouth and wan't to play with the Akitas in the next ring. He is a baby still but what a baby..lol
He looked quite nice to in my opinion but he is young and I am inexpereinced still so will get working on him and he on I. It gives me experience and I have meet a lot of people. I was in the 2nd class so after that I got a ringside seat so pick up all the tips.
My breeder and my pups sire's owner thought he was looking quite nice. They told me his sire was a bit naughty also and was not prince charming till around 18 months he now has 12 ccs so I hopefully have time to pull it all together. I think they were relatively pleased with my work on him so I was happy with that.
Onwards and upwords they say...

well sound like you had a enjoyable day Pam and that's the important bit :D It's all experience and getting used to it all (so they keep telling me ;) ) Bet it was nice to feel the breeder etc were quite pleased with him and your work :)

Thanks Sara,
My friend and I had a ball.
It is was great getting support from my puppy's breeder and very encouraging to get some motivation foom some of the top breeders. I have a professional job and am doing fairly well in life but still can be humble enough to childishly look up to some of the breeders and exhibitors as they work their pans out and be mildly envious.
One thing I can see and have learned is most of the good breeders have got there through hard work, pacience and not giving up which I think alot of people forget you have to do and they want a champ but don't want to do the work.
One lady I spoke to yesterday said she had drove up and down the UK for 10 years and yesterday was the first time one of her dogs had been placed first she was so please and boy did she deserve it. Thank is dedication which I think you must definantly have in the dog world..

Well done Pam., they do enjoy showing us "humans" up don't they?? :D
Mine do it all the time  Can be sweetness & light outside the ring, as soon as we get in, it's the "dancing dog" impression :D

Just got in from Darlington, afraid my little Buffy didnt get anything, i have to say most of the cockers seemed a little over hand stripped, Buffy looked quite hairy compared to them, very long journey dont know if i would do it again, met saraw and jackie, nice to have finally met some more champdoggers.
A very tired Diane

Hi all,
Got back from Darlington about 9.30, should be in bed by now as I'm shattered but got to catch up on all the threads!
What looked like being a disappointing day - 3rd out of 3 with both pups and 2nd out of 3 with their mum- turned out well when Alice got 5th in puppy stakes and then won the minor puppy stakes! So came away with £27 in prize money, which was then spent on Fit & Fertile and goodies for the dogs!
Liz
Well I'm a bit late with my weekend update, damn work .....lol
At our breed ch show on Saturday we got Reserve out of 5 in Post Grad Dog. Not the best of placings but then I wasn't happy with the way I had my boy stacked so couldn't grumble. He is also needing to mature and is only 19mths so I'm up against some pretty mature looking dogs.
Darlington :-) Different story. We got VHC out of 15 dogs !!! Talk about being chuft :D I saw the entry and thought nah no way, all these dogs have done quite well. It was a breed judge who apparently likes to see a dog who looks as though he can do the job he was bred for as well as having nothing over done. I'm told that whilst she might place well known breeders higher up it has nothing to do with being facey but because she likes their dogs. So Sunday made up for Saturday and my boy performed much better :-)
P.S. Saw Sara's Phoebie for the first time, an absolute darling IMO, I'm sure she will have her day!
