Can i ask for people experiences of three dog.... Specifically I'm interested in two male, one female combinations....(one male is castrated and the bitch and dog are entire) I am thinking of adding another show dog and just wonder on pack logistics in the above equation... IE Did the boys get on once pup had grown? Was there conflict around season time between the boys etc? both existing dogs here are VERY laid back.

Hey
It depends on the breed mostly, but i think if you are going to add another to a pack of 2 dogs and 1 bitch i would go for another bitch, as 3 males and 1 female may eventually bring around conflict, but again cant say without knowing breed!
For example you cant have 2 SBT males together at any point but some dogs you can have males a plenty!

hi thanks for the reply. The breed is Boxers and it would only be two males (one casterated) plus 1 female (already have male and female.. its another male we would be adding.

I have 3 females and 2 entire males :d  99% of the time they are great but 3 weeks before seasons life can be hell.  Actually touch wood Anton seems to be behaving himself this time round only had one little spat and the odd grumble but nothing serious.  The girls are right on time now and are in the living room with the boys in the kitchen.  Anton's had a few howling sessions but nothing major.  I just hope it stays this way.

My expereince with most Boxers is that they do not like other male boxers too much.  I think you would be better adding another bitch.

Would totally agree with you Barbara, i grew up with a house full of boxers and the dogs rarley saw eye to eye and ended up with the situation some members have had on the board where you have to keep them totally seperated all the time. Whereas the girls always remained good friends always almost like a sisterhood
