Molly finished her 3rd season about 3 weeks ago. Ever since then when we are out on walks all she wants to do is sniff everything. She has never been one of those dogs that trots along wagging her tail, she always had her nose to the ground. But now we can be out for an hour or so & only have walked 1 mile. Molly can take ages sniffing a twig, a blade of grass, she spends alot of time with her head halfway down rabbit holes, & when she does sniff it is very intensive & she seems to go into a little trance! I don't mind, it is Molly's walk after all.
I have also noticed that is has suddenly grown up alot...Molly used to go mad when she saw another dog (loves dogs) but now she has calmed down & doesn't embrass me anymore! She doesn't hide under the table when people come into the house, she now sniffs them & trots off & when we are out she now allows people to stroke her too.
Is this all a growing up process?

Sounds like she is maturing into a find scenting dog :D  Waht breed is sdhe/  Your best bet is to use and direct her talents.

Molly is a EBT, it'll be nice to have a dog with a talent!!  It is very strange when she now sniffs, her body 'shivers' on the surface & on very major sniffs her nose drips!

EBT aren't renowned for their work ethic :D  But it might be good fun to teach her to track.  If you contact a club that does Working Trials for advice, you can do it just for fun, or you never know you might want to give Working Trials a go..

All sounds very interesting Brainless....I can understand about their lack of work ethic, she mainly a couch potato! I think she just sniffs alot so she doesn't have to walk very far!
