My Mums have their pups in a room the others do not have access to for the first two weeks or until the eyes are open. the litter then come into the kitchen or living room where all and sundry are and it is up to Mum how much interaction she allows the others with their pups, and the others always respect a Mum :D
There is no way to keep the pups in quarantine and in fact they will have immunity to all that Mum has encountered. The time to worry about infections when pups reach the age to leave for their new homes and immunity from Mum is on the wane (just the time when you have most people visiting from all over the country) :D
