Been told to give it three times a day to start but was wondering how long i have to give it for at this dosage and what the dosage should be longterm? It is for nervousness/anxiety
Who told you to give it? can they not advise the dosage and prolonged use? :)

Gelsemium. I would not touch it without discussing it with your GP. Of course if you are talking about homeopathic you can take as much as you like ;)

Depends what you are using it for etc etc. The potency should have been discussed with you and the length of time. Homoepathic treatment, if incorrect, can be harmful over a period of time. contrary to what a lot of people think

and contrary to any laws of science ;)

No Isabel, all that sugar in the tablets can cause problems to diabetics, both people and animals.

Fair point :) steer clear of the tablets, take the drops and all will be well ;)

If I use drops (not gelsenium), the base gives me migraine.....

It's only water :) You sure you are not thinking of rescue remedy aka brandy! :)

Oooh that does surprise me, I have tried 1 or 2 different homeopathic things and decided that it was something in the base....I do have a 'sensitive' head and migraine is set off by various things, not water though lol.
Karen :-)
I suffered very badly with megrain for years until I hurt my lower back and visited a chiropractor. Following X-Ray it seemed I had a compounded whiplash injury to my neck which had been there for years, and when treated the 'heads' really did slow down, to the point I hardly get any. Just wondered if you had ever tried a chiropractor?

Thanks for that idea, I am on 2 types of meds for it,and have had ct scan, x-rays, also physios at work have 'gone over me' to try. All to no avail.
I am definatly a cluster headache migrainer, and ever the optimist that I will grow out of it!
It seems to have have run through my family on my fathers side, sadly my middle son seems to be blighted too.
Karen

Not a paticulary good comment when the opposite is true. Even 'over the counter' pills and potions have to be carefully monitored, as many can interact badly with conventional meds. All homeopathic meds should be prescribed by those that know how to use them. They may be contrary to science, but they work in so many cases.

It may be your opinion that the opposite is true but in the absence of any evidence that homeopathy has any phsiological effect at all I think I'll stick with mine :)
I do agree however, that over the counter pills should be regarded in the same way as pharmaceutical if you are meaning herbal or some other detectable substance.

My opinion is formed from people becoming well or improved from these 'pills and potions' when other methods with all the side effects have not worked :) After all, my own GP will look at this as another form of treatment, for menopause for example.
Of course if you are talking about homeopathic you can take as much as you like
This is your rather unsafe comment I was refering to. I don't think advising someone to 'take as much as you like' is very wise.

I have no doubt people do improve in the same way that people improve when they have had relaxation therapy or even just the opportunity to talk to someone about their problems. In fact I expect they do have a physiological change to some degree in the way that people improve after relaxation techniques or councilling but those that are more scientifically minded and therefore would question that effect will be unaffected whereas pharmaceutical or herbal drugs do not require any faith they work regardless. As it is unlikely any one will be
wishing an ill effect I can't see it happening :)
Of course if you are talking about homeopathic you can take as much as you like
So you still assume that it is a safe comment to advise people they can take as much as they like?
Which was my comment really, whatever you belive about wether it works or not is neither here nor there really.

Yes, it's the same thing. No actual effect, no harm.
In that case, I just hope that no one takes heed of this type of advice. :(

Whether you BELIEVE that homeopathy is useful or not is neither here nor there EXCEPT if you give potentially damaging advice skewed by your own bias.
Many of us and many of our animals have benefited hugely over the years from homeopathy as well as allopathic treatment.
Your advice is, by your own admission, not based on evidence, therefore at best worthless and at worst potentially extremely harmful.

My comments are not based on evidence because you cannot prove a negative. There is no evidence that homeopathy can possibly do any harm that I can find, can you?
By tohme

Yes the evidence of my own eyes and experience.

Well you are the first person I have come across claiming anecdotal evidence of harmful effect but I'm afraid it still doesn't provide evidence of the sort that I would look for.
