Can you mount an LCD tv on a chimney breast ?  Just wondering if the heat will damage it

I have mine on the chimney breast wall (touchwood ;0) ok its in the bedroom, but it still is on the chimney that is used by the gas open fire down stairs.. and I have (like I said touch wood) not had a days problem.
