good luck to eveyone the going today sunday,god it was muddy and slipley to,

i want to run my dogs but i just couldnt incase i slip and did damage to my knee again,

my dog were ok not to muddy, but some mum with kids there were having a fun day i think the clothers will be in the bin not the washing machine

I found I had to slow my setters down so I didn't slip over.  Normally I will run on a loose lead but yesterday I just didn't want to risk it!!!!  While walking round the show ground I was on tip toes to try and save the botton of my trousers and finding the best possibly dryiest route (which didn't exsist between tent two and tent 3 over the other side.)

I feel sorry as it's toy people today.  Though at least it's the easiest dogs to carry over muddy ground!!!

I too saw afew kids nearly coverd head to toe in mud.  God forbid the colour of the car seats after the journey home.  Our dog bedding was bad enough and the dogs went straight from the ring after judging to the car, so not far at all!!!!

Thanks for posting this Briedog, I threw in a pair of trainers at the last minute and would have had real trouble with only my smart shoes!! And yes, I had to carry my Cavalier all round the showground - I bought her a coat from Countrymun to walk out in (she hates being wheeled in the trolley) but decided even then she would get dirty feet, and I didn't want to buy boots too! The coat will come in very handy for wet companion shows and dog displays. :-)

I've just finished scraping all the mud off and washing the grooming trolley wheels and my shoes and washing the many towels I had to use to try and get Giddy into a fit state to go in the ring! - couldn't face it last night.  I know that no-one could have predicted the weather but I do think they could have put straw down in the gangways.  I had to have the car pushed INTO the car park!

I agree about the straw Debs, I think they had enough warning to have been better prepared.
Also our benching was almost the other end of the showground from our ring and no officials to help guide you.
My car is filthy, mud on the roof even from my wheels spinning

Our ring and benching were also on entirely opposite ends of the showground. :rolleyes: No wonder the benching tents were abandoned.

The entrance to the tents were bad on Friday, but no one came to put anything down.  This weather was well forecast in advance, I paid £28 for one entry, catalogue and carpark, I expect better.

Then we had a pink coated jobsworth telling people they couldn't put a cages around the ring under the tent, even though it was raining, they were not in a walkway or in anyones way.  People with more then one dog in subsequent classes couldn't get back to the benches to swap dogs.

And they wonder why the entries are going down?? :rolleyes:

They are only trying to obide KC rules though. :(  Catch 22 really

it is always that way at windsor with the benching on the outside and the rings in the middle, its always a trek to your ring (not so bad if you dont have to carry your dog through the mud I suppose :rolleyes: )

Well I had to take my dogs into the ring muddy as I was showing three and could barely keep my own footing let alone carry dogs into the showground and then into the ring.

I didn't find it too bad for us :)  Both toller benching and ring wern't too far away and nor was red and whites.

My problem was tollers one side and red and whites the other.  It was much more of a treck for us at blackpool with the red and whites.

I beleive they weren't allowed to put straw down, but then they should have provided mats like they ahd at Birmingham.

I took Alf into the ring with muddy feet, I put his trouser suit on to walk him to the ring but forgot to take a towel to clean his feet off when we got there :rolleyes:

well we had top to toe mud on the hounds on the last day.....we waded in and waded out....but does it matter....no. I couldnt believe the way some people were moaning on the day!!!

My lovely bathed hounds were mud spattered getting into the venue.  some people carried their dogs into the ring, I really didn't see the point, just cleaned off any mud on the body and legs so judge wouldn't get dirty hands.
