Ok so what does everyone do to keep their dogs happy etc

One of our dogs loves to carry anything when you walk in though the door.  so my dad specially brings back a london metro every day (puzzles compleated!) to give to  Arnie as he walks though the door, Arnie proceeds to wander round the house with his newspaper showing everyone, human and dog! (If you have a drink bottle he will happily have this aswell!) This happends everyday mon-fri.  However when we got Arnies sister back for rehoming we found she likes newspapers aswell so Dad now brings home two, so Chablie has her own newspaper but she shreds it!

(Once Arnie is bored of newspaper he will leave it on the floor ready for mum to have a read! :D )

I was just thinking how sad it is Dad brings home two newspapers especially for the dogs!

So come-on please tell my family is not the only one! :D

LOL - that's sweet - sorry can't think of any really mad things like that Rox - sure we must have some though :)

I mean having setters you need to be slightly crazy ;)

When camping and being unable to get comfortable on the single bed due to having too many dogs sharing with me I have been known to take the duvet and sleep on the floor, usually followed by at least 2 dogs I must add.  Also when my oldie was very poorly a few months ago the only place he felt comfortable was sleeping on my armchair.  Yes you guessed it Kyle got the armchair and I sat on the floor at his feet.  It must be love!

When my pudding ball of a Cav gets in the car I have to take him out of the opposite side cos he cant turn round - and sometimes have to lift him out because its too much effort!!

We can never get to sit right up to the desks in the office as there is always a dog under them. So we sit miles away and do everything with outstreched arms!!! And I always purchase and cook far to much brocolli so they can have plenty, they all love it.

Sounds like you need a double airbed then for camping HJ :D

I had to get rid of my 3 seater leather sofa and get two 2-seater ones for the boys when they decided they no longer wanted to share a sofa. Now Tchi has one, Toto the other and Gem has the armchair. Meg has the choice of numerous expensive dog beds and I sit on the computer chair (visitors have to perch on arms of chairs unless they're really fast!).

I've just been to Tesco shopping and spent a fortune on the usual ox tails, chicken portions & steak for the dogs and treated myself to a value pack of mince for my pasta

I have to keep getting up and down as Breeze is too dumb to open a door. Sam used to headbutt the door open, Barnie used to jump at the door handle to open them, but she is not clever enough, or maybe she is a prima dona is a dogs' body, as even if the dor is open half way, she sits there and barks until we open it for her

Be thankful :D :D Dogs that can open doors are a pain in the **** :D :D

My partners dog is back in Australia with her parents and every week we wrap up a present for her in several layers of wrapping paper and airmail it out to her so she knows her mummy loves her!

We went shopping for a new collar and lead for her last month, photos were taken of each and then the dog got shown each photo - the one she barked at the most was the one we bought her.  She loves it of course and barked furiously at 'mummy' when she called her to ask her how she was (a 40 mins call from England to Australia just talking to a dog!!)

I spent an hour under my duvet with Rocky earlier, explaining how friction and static electricity are the cause of thunderstorms, and that the sky is NOT falling in.

He still doesnt believe me, according to him, science doesnt know everything and other dogs have confirmed the sky falling in theory.

I tried to explain about gravity and how the sky isnt a thing that could 'fall' anyway but hes having none of it, with his head under my pillows, shaking....

No one else explain these things to their dog, whilst sitting in the dark under the duvet?

Whilst I admit to talking to my girls on numerous subjects I can honestly say 'No', I've never done that :P :P

Ebba was spayed on wednesday, and then decided in the middle of thursday night  to get up onto my bed. Now normally I kick her off when I realise, but due to her op I knew that if I lifted her off she would get back on again, So instead of making her stitches worse, I spent the night curled up at the top of the bed while she layed stretched out at the bottom :eek::eek::eek:

I do this regularly for my boy  He's not a demanding dog and is often overshadowed by our whirlwind Newfie so I allow him this little indulgence when he wants it, even though it takes about a week for my spine to get back to normal afterwards   :)
