Hope Storm's results are good. Out of interest, how long have you been waiting for the BVA to
score the x-rays. We had 3 dogs x-rayed yesterday, so just wondering how long we have to wait!!!
The last time we were waiting over 6 weeks for the scores. The waiting is just awful
Last time I waited just 3 weeks as I think I caught the panel at the right time. i think they now sit every fortnight but may be wrong.

I'd like to know when the up to date statisitcs will be on the BVA wesirte as the breed mean scores shown there are still for Jan 06.
I was looking forward to our breed moving into the over 500 scored group as we were very close to it.

I sent an e-mail asking this about 3 weeks ago and they haven't replied.
One of my friends who used Lastar got her dogs score back last week and it was about a 5 week wait. Thankfully they were below the breed average so it was worth the wait :d
hi all,
Storms x-rays where taken on 24th may, 3 weeks ago so looking at a 4 week wait for them to be scored and a 5 week wait for the elbows, just hope they are posted out to me sharpish
all of ours on 3 different occasions tokk 4 weeks to get back to us

Have you had the results back yet

I'm waiting on some too
no results back as yet, r-rays taken 51/2 weeks ago. i did speak to bva and know that her hips were being scored two weeks ago and her elbows last wednesday, i am expecting them this week, think if nothing arrives today i will e-mail bva again and see if they are on the way.

, her breeder is going to be pleased, this means that we can have ago at everything now with out putting a strain on bad limbs, have you heard back yet chocmolly? i see your from around my part of the country, did Marylin do your x-rays by any chance?

Hi all
Looking at getting my dogs hips and elbows done sometime soon, i live in Essex (Thurrock to be precise). Have had a recommendation by Margot (Lokis Mum), Cambridge Veterinary College, was wondering if anyone can recommend someone/somewhere else just in case i cant get upto them.
Many thanks in advance.

Don't forget Nicci - earliest appointment you are likely to get from Cambridge now will be October - they only do hips and elbows during term time, so that students can see what goes on! It takes about 1-1 1/2 hours to get there - depending upon M25/M11!
Margot
I along with many others have used a lady who lives near southampton, she is very very good, she sadates the dogs, i think she is very reasonable as well. if you need her number pm me.

Havent decided where to go yet regarding getting dogs hip/elbowed scored, obviously it all depends when i phone up which one can fit me in around the dates i can get off. If i go to Cambridge Veterinary School its not that far so we would drive up there and back in a day, but have decided that if we go to the lady a few of you have recommended in Eastleigh, nr Southampton we will stay for a few days up there. My problem now is we cant find nowhere to stay, have looked on 'Welcome Holidays' and 'Cottages 4 U' who i have used a few times in the past, around the dates that i can possibley do, but any they have available dont accept pets, do any of you know of any decent places to stay that accept pets, would ideally like a cottage but if not anything will do.
Many thanks in advance

NO!

I phoned the BVA at lunchtime......
Hips were scored on 27th June and elbows were done on 6th July

you'd think they'd be able to do them in the same week surely

Anyway, they wouldn't tell me over the phone what the scores were, but it was worth asking :D

Your vet should have them by now then? Suprised that they haven't.

does anyone know when the panel will next be meeting?
By chocymolly

I think they meet weekly, but they are running quite a bit behind ATM judging by how long I've waited so far

thx chocymolly - mine have just been sent off in time to get caught in the postal strike so guess I may be in for a long wait (if they ever get there..)
last ones I had done were 4 years ago and took 8 weeks..

Hi Chocomolly
Have you tried ringing your vet and asking if the results are back yet
every time I,ve had a dog scored the vets rang me to let me know the results, hope its good news the waiting seems to go on for ever

Hi,
I didn't go through my Vet :) so that is not an option, the lady I used sends on the x-rays and certificates as soon as she receives them back from the BVA

Results came in the post this morning

Hips 5/6 :)
Elbows 0/0

So thats that nerve racking ordeal over with...........until the next pup ;)
(I'm sure the nerves are worse when it is a dog you've bred youself!)

Ahhh well done, lucky you got them with the postal strik yesterday and on Thursday. Glad you are pleased with the
