Having some thought about a move from Manchester to Anglesey.  Have spent many a week on the Island over the last seven years. 

Really like the outdoor life-have three dogs and all enjoy walks out and searching new walks.

I am sure I would get involved in Island life and join in activties.

Any feedback most welcome

Hiya we live in Anglesey my husband was born here and then dragged me here 4 years ago :D

It is fabulous for walks we have got lost on many occasion :rolleyes:you'd never be stuck for walks , on the other side of the coin property is ridiculously priced and it doesnt reflect the wages on the island, shops can be pricey so we try and go to the mainland for shopping as theres only recently been an asda built on the island :D :D and its a small one too not much choice..
It is a brilliant place to live the pace of living is very slow but can be annoying sometimes when you want to buy a pint of milk!

its a great place as long as you dont have kids!
there is nothing for them!
it also depends on whereabouts you want to live on the island!
my mum bought a house in Rhosneigr for 56 thousand in 1979 and sold it for 3/4 of a million! not so long ago!
i wouldnt move to the North side as it tends to be very quiet!
there is a Tescos and lots of other supermarkets in Holyead!
would love to move back if i won the lottery!

Teenagers maybe but there are youth clubs it has gotten alot better in that respect and there is plenty to do with many council programmes but like teenagers everywhere they say its not savvy to go to a youth club and prefer to hang around the bus stop .. :D

Theres no McDonalds or fast food places like that, it means you have to make an effort with your children and i think my daughter has a fantastic life we go swimming, crabbing, fishing, brownies, youth club, theres so much to do that doesnt involve a cinema and mcdonalds afterwards ;)
Kids have no imagination these days!! or is the parents!

There is a Mcdonalds in Holyhead next to Nettos!
however i agree with Mygirl  i used to find my own entertainment, we used to go on the beach and have bbqs
swim and horseride! my parents worked hard all day and night as we had a Hotel
so my friends and i used to spend all our time out in the fresh air!
what a great life!
but now the village i grew up in has no jobs and the house prices are that extortionate that the kids are moving away!
soon it will be a closed community of holiday home owners!

totally agree and its such a shame, unless you work at wilfa or tinto or even ysbty gwynedd you're unlikely to have a good paid job sufficent to keep a huge mortgage sadly...

I know theres a McDonalds in Holyhead but we are talking Anglesey which there isnt a McDonalds :p
