Topic Dog Boards / General / Ebba to be spayed tomorrow
- By Lea Date 03.07.07 15:41 UTC
Ebba is booked into be spayed tomorrow :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I cant believe it has come round so quickly!!!!!
I have now had her 7 months!!!!
I am NOT looking forward to it!!!!
This will be the 4th animal I have had bneutered in 4 years. And I feel sick every time!!!!
Any advice on how to keep a 2 1/2 YO Rottie, that enjoys nothing more than curling up on the sofa...... leaping over my bed to get to the door. Curling up at my feet on the bed (When she knows I am asleep as she knows she is not allowed up there)
etc etc etc Quiet~??????
Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh and the other thing is, I looked at the vets she is going to (she is a rescue so they are spaying her!)
checked on the website And it is a practice where one of my customers is a partner!!!! She will have a shock if she sees me there in the morning LOL

Now that would be great, but I am working tomorrow and friday so my mum is having her LOL
Depends on how she behaves with mum, I may have to take her to work and leave her in the boot of the car to keep her quiet!!! Equivalent of cage rest LOL
Got up early as have to leave to take her at 7.45, and now feeling sick at the thought of my bouncing pup (ok she is 2 1/2) going under the knife!!!! :( :( :(

Just got back and boy do I feel guilty :( :( :(
She has had Diarreoah at the vets :( :( So got to feed her chicken and rice tonight.
I took her in as a bouncy pup, and brought out a sad dog :( :(
I swear she is never going to speak to me again!!!!!!!
She even let me lift her out of the car
She is now curled up near me looking very sad and dejected :( :(
I hope it is just the anasthetic wearing off!!!!!
She was dont at a vets 25 mins away from me. And they said take her back to my own vets to have the post op check and have the stitches out and they shouldnt charge me. Now this to me sounds silly, but they said they wouldnt if it was vice versa, anyone heard that before?????

Oh brilliant. She was poorly in the car so I lterally walked out, put the blanket in there inside out and put some dog towels ontop so we could take Sam to cubs, left her in the living room on the floor, walked back in and she is on the chair :eek::eek::eek:
This is going to be a LONG 10 days!!!!!!

Ahh good to hear she is out of the vets okay Lea ...hope she continues to recover well and I am SURE she will forgive you :) :D

Hope she's bouncing around in the morning Lea - but not too much!

(Not charge you for taking the stitches out when you've had the spay done elsewhere? I'd expect my vet to charge me double AND give me a lecture to boot!)

When surgery has been done at practice A I'd expect the stitches-out appointment to be included in the surgery price. If the stitches are taken out at practice B I'd expect them to charge a consulting fee for the appointment - so in effect you'd be paying twice for the stitches to be removed.

LOL, well thats what I would say!!!!! LOL
I will say though that Ebba's spay has been paid for by the dogs trust in conjunction with the rescue I got her from. The stipulation was that she was spayed at the right time and paid for by the rescue centre!!!! So I had to use their vets that I will say I cannot fault. Only problem being is they are 25 minutes drive away and Ebba bless her is car sick :( :( :( So an hours round trip twice in next 10 days after the trauma of today would be not good for her.
But yes I would say the same as you that I would expect to pay a consultation fee1!!!!!!! Will see how much it will be to see if it is better staying local at the vets that I trust explicitly  or taking her back to the vets that spayed her :) :)
She has had some fish and rice tonight as she had an upset stomach.
I lifted her onto the sofa when we got back at 8.15 and she hasnt moved since. took her food and water to her at 8.45 and she ate and drank.
How much can you spoil a flipping dog LOL
Thankyou :)

Maybe it's an agreement the Dog's Trust has with most vets then Lea. That'd be good.

Oh I will be sooooooooooooooooo pleased when she has her stitches out!!!!
How on earth do you keep a POGO stick down LOL
Sh is terribly car sick, she just DROOLS!!!
She must Drool a litre every time she goes in the car!!!
And seeing as I am still working, and taking her with me or leaving her at mums she is drrooling alot. I have taken to taking 4 dog towels with me to mop up the buster collar and her neck as it is sopping wet all the time. Even after travel sickness pills.
Stitches out on Saturday at 9.30 am. I am Soooooooooooooo looking forward to it LOL
I am afraid I havnt been able to keep her off the sofa, but she climbs up slowely, and apart from being a bit swollen, her scar is fine. Only weeped slightly on Sunday, but was lifting her in and out of the car all day due to commitments!!!!
But she is coping with it all very well :) :) :)

Ah bless her.  She's the fourth Rottie I know of thats terribly car sick - very difficult for you.  Neither of my dogs are car sick but at least if they were I can lift them easy enough :)

roll on saturday
