Liv, well done girl

One of the best things I did was give up smoking.

Small country pub we go to seems to have its fair share of smokers.  One the regulars smokes cigars one after the other and boy did we notice the stink.  It's going to seem strange going there and no one smoking but I will relish it.

Interesting to see in today's Press:

1. Pete Docherty breaking the smoking ban in a Jazz bar in Soho

2. Prince Harry breaking the smoking ban at Wembley Sunday night  (private party regardless, law still applies ;) )

wonder which one (if any?) will be made an example of???

This is where it will all come a cropper, In London for example different boroughs will have differing methods some are taking a draconian approach some are going to do 2 warnings... so it will be one rule for one and one rule for others depending on where you are :(
I saw a chap leaning out of a pub window today smoking

anyyyway.... :D
((((((Whoooop! well done the quitters!!!))))))))
I got caught up in the evacuation @ Hammersmith tube today and then my Building was evacuated later in the day... I was verrrrry tempted to have a cig! But didnt..phew! that was my first real wobble.

The nightclub that my boyfriend worked in last saturday night has come up with a money making scheme from the smokers. The clubbers are charged £3 for a wrist band that entitles them the go through the club, to an open space where they can smoke. 400 people bought the bands in one night alone! They can't take their drinks with them, so when they return they haven't a clue which drink is theirs & buy another. Even more money made.

Don't think I'd want to drink it again even if I did know which was mine  Down in one I think :D

Congrats to all you quitters :P

Interestingly, our local Parish News in Norfolk was asking people to support the, now, smoke-free pub in the next village as it might close if smokers stopped going there. One point that they made was that house prices in the village might go down by £10,000, on average, if the village had no pub :D :D We're not bothered as we don't go to pubs anyway and our village doesn't have a pub - this pub is our nearest and is about 1.5 miles walk along a narrow lane.

Any thoughts ?? Are we being smug because it doesn't affect us either way ??? :D :D :D

Went to a pub yesterday and tehy had posh ashtrays on outside walls and have put in large canopies over some of the outside seating.  Noticed all teh pubs around here have put in soem shelter outside.  the oens that are going to ahve a problem are the ones that have no garden or frontage.

It was so nice that it didn't stink inside of anthing other than beer.

My friend who I met for lunch is a smoker so we sat outside.
