Well about to venture out again with my rabble - thought lets wait for a break in the weather - I don't think its coming so lets get wet (AGAIN!)

Floors muddy and wet constantly - can't get the towels dry quick enough before they are needed again :(

I feel sorry for all the summer fayres and shows going on must be a nightmare - darn Wimbledon!

Bathed the dogs, and washed all the bedding yesterday, now it is getting soaked outside, after it was very nearly dry.

Imagine 5 woolly dogs that can't be brushed or combed :d

Yesterday morning's walk was  started in the pouring rain so I put on my waterproof trousers, jacket and wellies and put a jumper on as it was chilly with the rain sheeting down and the wind blowing.

Halfway through the walk the rain stopped and the sun began to shine so I boiled. Took jacket and jumper off but had to keep trousers on as I'm not so good at balancing on one foot and the ground was a quagmire :D

Other walkers - who had obviously waited for the sun to shine before venturing out - passed me wearing t-shirts and trainers and smiled as they passed the mad woman with wet hair plastered to her head and a face as red as a beetroot.

Just as I got back to the woodland car park the heavens opened again as i smugly took off my wellies and waterproofs and got into my warm, dry car :D

Dog was a mess though

Yep feel just the same  Out this morning and this afternoon in the rain, I stink, the dog stinks, the house stinks, I have dog towels coming out of my ears that need washing (no tumble dryer here) and hair floating everywhere (seems to lose it more when wet !!!) the joys of having a dog but I love him all the same

Didn't rain when I took the dogs out at lunchtime, but Tara insisted on going in the stream, so she got thoroughly wet anyway :D :D :D

With you on that one Daisy my Kez is a water babe - so pretty much stinks all year around :cool::cool:

I'm going to go against the grain... right now, rain is good :D but only a little!

Why?  Because when it rains, people don't take their dogs to the woods - and it's the only place Soli can get the run she really needs, and so much nicer when I don't have to keep her on lead in case we run into other dogs :D
- By JaneG [gb] Date 30.06.07 18:08 UTC
I'm with you Nikita, wet dogs are a small price to pay for a peaceful walk :) Mr Beastly didn't have to go on his lead once, and we were out for ages too. Weekends are normally a nightmare, lets hope it rains tomorrow afternoon too :D

Around here there are only 2 other dog owners plus one that turns up in a car from further away, and we all go out in all weathers. :D

Sorry all but forecasters reckon the rains with us until the middle to end of July  I hate it to we have had our garden boundry ripped out to make way fora nice new fence but progress is very slow. So every time the dog needs to go out to pee I have to go to so wet dog wet owner. I think Im ready to emigrate

That is so true, was in the park on wednesday pouring down, did not see a soul for nearly 2 and half hours it was bliss but when I did see people they must have thought I was off my rocker  I also prefer this weather (even though Kez stinks:cool:) than the red hot weather having a long haired dog I have to restrict my walking to early mornings/late evening

Try trying to keep dogs clean at windsor today!!! :D

Though horrible weather means I'm not collecting house keys and paying summer rent tomorrow because of M1 clouseur and A1(m) having two lanes closed meaning my byfriends not too keen on driving me up to Bradford from hertforshire and I'm not wanting to spend time locked in a car with him in  bad weather and bad journey!!! :D

Think I might help out Grandad at his companion show anyway!!!!! :D

Can I join in, 3 long coated dogs in this weather, and with Windsor today keeping Madam clean could be fun!!

:eek:Didn't expect such a good response!
After having my "rant", on watching the news last night, I must admit I did feel rather Ashamed ~those poor people having to cope with all that stinky muddy water invading their homes~ their homes will never be the same...Give me a smelly muddy lovable doggy any time:rolleyes:
"rant" dissolved Hmmmmm

I feel incredibly lucky.  Just like my last RR, Earl insists that, if it's raining, he walks hugged up against me so he's under the umbrella and he has his head tucked under my raincoat (God forbid his ears ever get wet).  So all I have to contend with is wet tummy and feet (that's him, not me)....

Yep you are right there it must be dreadful.... All I can think of this past week is the floods and those still 5ft deep with water even after a week since the rains. Several cities towns and villages totally devastated by freak weather .. mostly these are not even places that flood in a normal winter flood.    The biggest UK rescue operation since the war. This is not our normal rain.  I don't know how people cope. Muddy feet are the least of our worries in the UK right now.   It is totally tragic.
- By Tenaj [gb] Date 02.07.07 11:19 UTC
..but it is a shame not to have a decent summer.... and to have so many shows and summer events cancelled with the rain... people put so much work into these events.
