Jean and I have held looong discussions about Hudson and Chewi and have come to the conclusion that they are not in fact Alaskan Malamutes , but rather a lesser known breed of dog called an Alaskan Malaroowookie

;)

Or even, when they are at their very worst, a Malligatoroo. This is a lesser known malamute originating from more tropical climes. It has the jaw and mouth action of an alligator with the jumping ability of the kangaroo, and is very good at pulling its handler at a frenetic pace. Instead of crocodile tears, it has a 'malamute smooch', lulling its victims into a false sense of security before pouncing lovingly on them and covering them with mud from where it has dug its lates hideout

LOL....

mmmm and to think Liza and I have all this to come!!! :o

btw, what show this weekend? where? when?
If its sunday, I'm going to cry as it clashes with the charity motorcycle ride round the city, in aid of the local pet charities, "the potteries pet food run".

pay a small enterence fee for the 26mile ride, and bring at least 1 tin of pet food.

Both the food AND the cash goes to the local cats and dogs homes.

thanks, but really need to know a time from and until, as if i go on the pet food run wont be finished until about 1pm, then have to get over to Liza's collect Liza and Freya, (in the car) then head down to the show, it should take an hour and a half to 2 hours to get there, so, wont actually get to the show til about 3.30pm,

Judging usually starts at 10 Jay. All over and done with by 2.30 ish normally. Not sure on the rules as to taking un entered dogs along (Freya). I think maybe you may have had to enter them " not for competition" on the entry form. Whether this applies to pups less than 6 months I don't know. Not sure really, we have never taken a dog to a show that has not been entered.
- By steph [gb] Date 17.09.02 08:41 UTC
i took storm to thelast mal show without being entered,(i didnt think i was going...no-one told me off
i just went to watch and see my breeder more than anything...we really enjoyed the day but wished we had entered
- By fleetgold [gb] Date 17.09.02 10:02 UTC
Club shows are usually fairly tolerant about the odd unentered dog around UNLESS they have a KC Field Officer doing an inspection in which case they will ask you to remove the dog from the show. The same with pups under 6 months, they shouldn't really be there and also can't be entered NFC but the club will be a lot stricter if there is a KC F/O present or expected.

Thanks for clearing that up Joan. I really wasn't sure. At the mal club there are so many dogs milling around it would be hard to tell who wasn't entered and who was waiting to go ino the ring although a little pup would be fairly obvious :D . I believe we have had KC Field Officiers at some of the shows. I know I have never seen a pup at any of the mal shows, or else we would all be bringing our new pups for socialisation:D I wouldn't risk it Jay, it would be a shame if you had to take her away and lock her in the car for the duration. Knowing mals she may eat your steering wheel while waiting to go home.

well, if its all over by 2.30ish, wont be there anyway, got the bike run to do, which for a better cause.
It generates a massive amount of income and food for the local homes.

Been promised on that for several weeks.

As to Freya, shes had her jabs and by the time the show comes along, it will be a min of 2 weeks since the last jab, added to which, shes not that small now, on friday of this week shes 12 weeks and at the mo coming at at just over 2 stone (28lbs approx,12.7kg) as well as going thru a growth spurt, last few days shes shot up.

but there ya go.

Steph,
That was because she was over 6 months old.
See you sunday.

Love Leah and the polarpaws gang xx
- By polarpaws [gb] Date 18.09.02 12:06 UTC
Hi Jane,
You dont have to enter the dogsto take them or though sometimes they can be funny and say they must be 6 months old. They wont let pups there that havent been innoculated.
See you on sunday if you are there at the club show.

Ps how is Rosa getting big now i expect.

Best wishes Leah and the Polarpaws gang
- By maid marian [gb] Date 18.09.02 13:28 UTC
Rosa is doing a great impression of Kate Moss at the moment, shes looks like a long legged supermodel. I have just given the dirty little tike another bath, she screamed so much mom had to come and see what I was doing to her pup. She is off to training tonight for the first time so I thought at least she should be clean. :D
- By maid marian [gb] Date 18.09.02 13:30 UTC
Can I just add a PS to this. She is outside now digging a huge hole with mom and dad and is filthy again. Aghhhhhhhh.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 18.09.02 16:17 UTC
